Orange Knight
Does anyone else feel that this otherwise great release was completely overshadowed by the new Defiler? Robbienw
Not really, no. It's a great model. There isn't really a crossover with the Defiler. The Defiler release probably feels more dramatic, because its a massive stylistic departure from the first Defiler model, and its hilariously overpriced for what it is. I'd argue the destrier is hilariously overpriced for what it is as well. Robbienw
Not to the same degree as the Defiler. Defiler is a bit of a standout in terms of price point. The larger questoris boxes with multiple loadouts is only £10 or 9% more expensive for far more product and points. The destrier consists of 2 large full sprues and 2 half sprues. The defiler has 3 large sprues, so essentially the same volume of plastic, but is £17 cheaper than the destrier whilst having more options. They're also the same points iirc? Do by what metric is the defiler any more stupidly priced than the destrier? I say this as someone who thinks they're both too expensive. Robbienw
Its really not. I'm not talking about in game points comparisons. The Destrier isn't much smaller than a Questoris, and has improvements compared to the Questoris kit. Knights kits are very expensive as a whole of course, argue they are all collectively hilariously overpriced if you want, but the cost relationships between Destrier/Questoris/Castellan/Cerastus doesn't look wrong to me in terms of model content. As for the Defiler, when the model is constructed it looks quite small and unimpressive for an almost £90 rrp kit. Its perception based, does the kit feel like its worth it when its constructed. Honestly your opinion is entirely aesthetics based and divorced from money completely. You're entitled to think the destrier looks better, but that thought process doesn't have a retail price attached or any justification therein. I'm glad you like your destrier.
