The fourth - possibly final? - book set of the end of 10th edition.

Three books:

The Return of Yarrick: Lore book about the ongoing war for Armageddon

Detachments: As usual, 6 detachments. Space Marines, Guard, and Orks get 2 each, all focused on vehicles.

Armoured Gauntlet: The most fascinating ones, a supplement focused on bigger vehicles and monsters. "This rules supplement encourages players to field as many tanks, monsters, and war machines as possible, with the largest enjoying newfound durability through damage tables and powerful upgrades." Sounds very interesting. Something akin to older 40K or Horus Heresy, make stuff like tanks actually feel tankier?

Fluff article for Yarrick, seemingly confirming the "Space Wolves healed him" rumour/leak. Notably Angron was not involved at all with his squishening.

I'm a little surprised this thread hasn't seen much activity about the supplement inside this release, Armoured Gauntlet. I guess people are just pre-occupied with the upcoming 11th edition, and that this book set will launch in the tail end of 10th edition. But it does seem like it could be a pretty big change for tanks, Knights etc. I'd welcome it, I'd love to have a bit more flavour so stuff like tanks aren't seperated by infantry by just having more wounds and a higher toughness value. Give more weight to stuff with the titanic keyword.

I suppose the issue is whether this is something that will be incorporated into relevent datasheets in 11th edition, or if this will just be limited to this supplement. Legal in 11th, but more like some weird optional add-on for your tanks. I'm hoping that this, Crucible of Champions, and the new Apocalypse rules all get translated properly into 11th.

I'd take anything that adds a bit of grit back to vehicles. Flyers specifically could use some increased durability and movement flexibility.

"The only question was whether they would get there in time, or if the Speedwaaagh! of Wazdakka Gutsmek would ravage the planet before Yarrick could even set foot on the cursed world once more."

I'm guessing that the answer to that question is yes, they get there in time.

Here's a brand new, updated Yarrick to fight hypothetical scenarios when he was punctual.

Not quite the same ring?

Fluff articles have begun, so probably 18th or 25th for pre-order.

GW needs to stay away from numbers; normal humans aren’t exactly gonna be doing combat (or much of anything) with a planetary temperature several degrees higher than the highest recorded temperature on Earth.

I thought the intense heat was caused by the centuries of near unending war and the Orks putting the Green in Greenhouse Gasses as their war machines pollute the world’s atmosphere. Not to mention that time it was enveloped by Khornate warp spawn.

Let's just hope that those new open topped Guard vehicles have great air conditioning.

They just drive REALLY fast to compensate the heat.

Damn his order economy is insane.  Able to issue orders the same way Lord Solar is (To everyone and everything, almost), but also being able to essentially drop an 'order bomb' at the beginning when everything is clumped is pretty slick.

Weapons aren't anything amazing, tho Bale Eye being it's own weapon with an actual use case is pretty fun.  Always being a 4+ save is also pretty nice.

Disappointed that there's no detachment for Sisters- we are getting a model with this set, and Armageddon was a really big Lore moment for the OoOML- it was a massacre of the Sororitas forces at Armageddon that convinced the order to add the colour red to its livery. Kinda feels like a slight for us to be overlooked here.

But the "Many small books in a slipcase" format seems to place an arbitrary limit on what % of the total package can focus on datacards and detachments.

I get that he's got 10 wounds and a 4++ but he isn't a leader so can just be shot to pieces.

He's also Lone Op, so can't be shot at outside of his own threat range,as pointed out in the article.
