I might actually try converting him into a Weirdnob Shaman for my Ironjawz. Should work well with some slapdash armor panels and tusks to cover up where the cables got removed. Definitely has a more aggressive stance than the actual Weirdnob Shaman model, which is nice.

Cool model, but it'll be a nightmare to transport. Those cables are going to snaaaaap.

Maybe it would be possible to magnetize the head, so you could remove it to pack flat between foam pads? Also, that would be fun for in-game if he goes 'eadbang.

Personally I like the cables, shows that Orks aren't afraid of new ideas.

Same as any modern minis, magnets on the base, metal sheets and bankers boxes/ really useful boxes. Due to the nature of modern minis, classic carry cases haven't been viable for years - nighthaunt?

I like this so much more than the old model. Never liked the other guy having his brain hanging out. Orks are well know how having thick skulls, after all. This guy has enough techy gubbinz that he wouldn't look completely out of place in my army like some smelly Snakebite.

I like 'im. The specific vision might not be to everyone's tastes, but he feels much more "someone had a fun idea for an Ork and went for it" and less "Ork designed by committee", which was what I felt held back the Warboss.

Though admittedly, there was potential for a really wild multi-part kit here, with all sorts of crazy parts. But that's wishlisting. For what this is, I think it works.

Nah, weirdboyz use copper staffs to earth their power, they just charge up until they either discharge or pop. There's never been a weird hat for orks.

I understand what you're saying, they aped human tech maybe, but it's new design language for orks and less fun to me.

To each their own!

I know in a 2008 art book published by Black Library, Clint Langley did some art depicting weirdboys with mechanical gubbinz on weirdboy hats, Agor the Mad and Azgar Brain Busta. This art might be the inspiration for the new weirdboy.

That being said, considering the new sculpt is for an Edition Launch Box, there is a 50/50 chance that it will be a box exclusive on a sprue with other characters/units. Maybe a blister pack plastic weirdboy will bring back the exposed brain.

The top one looks just fine. The staff and the tendrils/tentacles on the model just make it look more like a mek to me.

More detail noticing. The waaagh energy coming out beside his head is gravitating towards one of the "nubby" bits on the copper staff head.

I'm not gaga for the model but the nods of detail, silhouette and design philosophy I really do like. Not just randomly chucked together, this lad'z been crafted proppa.

Contrary to many an opinion here I'm gonna have to go with:

Garbage model. Just looks like a pants and clumsy conversion done by a novice just sticking bits to a model.

I think he looks like one of those black fortress negavolt cultists on steroids. Gives me more dark mech vibes than ork psychic to be honest.

@Grotsmasha you are absolutely right! I didn't even notice. Who would grab a staff like this? Seems he wants to hand it over.
