Hello everyone!

Recently branched out from the lore-tube to the books after Luetine spread to Arbitor to Mr.Bones to... all the other ones?

My mostly grown son asked me a question when I was eating a midnight bowl of cereal (as is often my elderly habit) and a bowl of soggy cereal and too much time had passed and I realized we had covered several primarchs, rogue trader, and several miscellaneous chapters/legions and thought perhaps I should read a book.

That led to another child asking questions, a salamander model, a Kill team... and now I'm listening to Red Tithe, shopping for valeho medium, ogling new brushes, and hosting a kinda half painted combat Patrol with 3 of my kids, a nephew, and a neighbor. Wondering if kitbashing Carcharodons would rival my mini-me's idea for a Deep Rock Galactic LOV chapter, and digging through forums for lore, tips, and fun.

I am a poor painter, reformed childhood ww2 model maker, and finally successful enough that Games Workshop prices make me wince and cry a little but do occasionally show up.

I am playing army for real over the weekend, have children with ridiculous schedules, two who have to come home to visit, no time, and enough work for three people... but...

I love this universe. I love how it can still laugh at itself while taking itself very seriously. And painting is the most stressful relaxing I can do once or twice a week and it gave me another excuse to assemble my wee nerds once a week.

I look forward to posting and digging and eventually showing my work.

Thanks for letting me in. I always lurk, but hopefully post enough not to get kicked.

Welcome. A Salamanders model, eh? Good taste! (they're my army)

If you like the self-deprecating humour of the universe, I can highly recommend the Ciaphas Cain books. The audiobooks are particularly well voice-acted, and are often on sale (reduced price or 2-for-1) on Audible.

Excellent advice! I will definitely look into it. All the driving my grown up life forces me into leaves time for listening.

Appreciate it!

LameBeard,

Thank you. I would definitely get that shirt lol.

This hobby  definitely feeds my particular tism.

The anthology is only 1 credit. Win!

Well that escalated quicky .

The lore is so great in this hobby, you are right!

Welcome to the forum @Jay_Bird104, don't forget to post your model, if you want .

Thank you so much! I will definitely maybe post my artwork someday/if completed/somehow magically done.

The forum has already provided so many ideas.
