Raptorsaurus13 Posted April 21 Share Posted April 21 The Roboutian Heresy I've been a reader of the 40k AU fanfiction 'the Roboutian Heresy' by Zahariel, for like 5 years now, and recently I have moved towards putting my ideas into model form. Thus here I will be putting forward the models I have painted and kitbashed. Slowly adding stuff as I get to it, as much is primed and much is planned. The focus is largely on the Chaos vs Imperium as is the nature of this particular AU. Ten thousand years have passed since the end of the Heresy Guilliman ignited across the Imperium, and yet the Arch-Traitor and his brothers plot against those Loyal to the Emperor. The lone loyalist Astartes that started the whole project: A Night Lords lieutenant: Spoiler The blue is definitely not the correct shade for Night Lords but the pauldron and some lightning on his kneepad does its job. The colour scheme will be corrected for future Astartes but for now, here is the one that I painted nearly 3 years ago I believe, when I started to want to make some Roboutian Heresy guys. And the reveal of the Night Lord Pauldron, with an attempt at NMM gold. The Chaos Ultramarines, Arch-Heretics of the Heresy A Dark Apostle of the Ultramarines, spreading his fathers evil: Spoiler Following my Night Lord Lieutenant I moved into my chaos Dark Apostle, when I realised that I need to differentiate the blues. Here there are attempts at NMM and OSL too which I'm happy enough about. Marching alongside our Dark Apostle is the cultist dregs that march alongside Spoiler And some brutish warp monstrosities Spoiler These guys are actually much older, but I thought they fit quite well with my chaos guys even if the paint job is rougher than I'd like. Going with some blue here and there and with better basing they fit in quite neatly alongside the Dark Apostle and crew. They're kitbashed from the Chaos Warshrine, I believe they're around hellbrute size so if I ever play, possible proxies perhaps. Definitely had a lot of fun creating these though. The right one I attempted to create a base similar to a farm, with the rows of tilled soil. You can actually see an attempt at making a footprint in the dirt for the right base which I was happy about. Kommisar_K Posted April 21 Share Posted April 21 Heresy! I love it. Excellent work on these. I especially like the flames on the Ultra-dark Apostle. Always fun seeing how different people do those effects. For a second my brain saw Ultramarine Chaos cultists and was like "nuh-uh." I had to respond with a very forceful "But yes." They're awesome.
