Thoughts on the Defiler?

I'm very excited about the new defiler.   Love the new model (and hated the old one).   Being able to reliably overwatch on 4+ is a pretty potent deterrent to opponents.

 

I have yet to try it in my army, but I could see it fitting in well by swapping out maybe a vortex beast and a forge fiend. 

 

Has any one played one yet?

As you I agree it looks very intersting, specially with better ap also on some weapons. But sadly, I never got it as it was soldout right away at my gaming store. So I have to wait until the make more of them.

I bit late, but it's pretty amazing across the board - people have gone nuts smashing them into their tourney armies, though I think they're back in stock now?

Not in Canada, unfortunately.  Gives me an excuse to kitbash a 2nd (not that I terribly needed an excuse, mind you).

Still out of stock in US.

And the defiler got a pretty big smack in the recent update. A points bump, and a further bump for some of the weapons. destroyer of futures was changed from overwatch to counteroffensive in combat, and and the FNP 6++ was taken away. A bit heavy handed from GW, but time will tell. The weapon stats remain the same(some of our guns are better than other defilers).

Running 1 is probably fine, but its def not as amazing as it once was.  After paying for 2 hades autocannon, your very close to the same cost in points to a knight errant.

We got hit hard with the nerf bat 'cause of multi Defilers and Tzangbot lists, and we're gonna get hit with it again because despite all this people have already migrated the list nearly untouched to a different Detachment combo.
