A lot of Archie's stock is going last chance to buy, reading between the lines it seems like GW are pushing back so get it before the 5th of May. Order Turnover is 10 days now due to the LCTB.

Added referance images (fixed as well?), amended title.

How does a checkered pauldron without any 40K related icon or any icons at all violate GW's copyright? I've spotted 3 patterns of plain pauldrons without any markings on this list.

Seriously saddened! I have only just discovered this site and now it looks like it is vanishing?

No, from what he's said going forward they're going to be doing more generic stuff that will be on line for GW. There is a few comments on his Instagram but I'm away with naff Internet so can't post pics over

There's some fantastic bits, but the shipping to Australia was just too much to justify most of the time.

It does provide another example as to why it's such an issue when the official offerings are so bland and lacking in detail, if the third party options to provide that detail are getting wiped out, we left high and dry.

I guess the options that have been taken off the purple site will pop back up eventually though so that's something.

*Preface I have very little knowledge of I.P. laws English or international*

I understand that GW has to protect it's I P. especially as the company has grown but I've personally never understood how it can be used against products you don't produce or intend to. I feel it was different with Chapterhouse in that that was one company doing what a lot of people either can't or don't have the time to buy now with the ready availability of 3d printing surely licensing companies would be more practical than the current mo. Shame cos there's some great stuff in that list.

This is a shame. I have two resin printers (and an FDM printer now!) so I never bought pre-printed parts, but for those that don't have that luxury it is a pity. GW seems to be really cracking down on STLs at the moment, Red Warden got badly bonked recently and one of my favourite suppliers of Nid parts got his Cults page terminated.

I ordered a few bits I’d been eyeing, with small kids at home I won’t be getting a printer but do need to find someone with one to print some stuff lol.

its a real shame as I’ve used Archie’s forge a bunch for years now

Home now and added the images to the front post which provide more clarity than I could type out with the hotel's dialup level internet.

Photos aren’t showing up it seems.

Decided to pull the trigger on some Ultramarines Banners (3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th) this morning. Glad I did when I did though as it seems that the last chance to buy items have now been removed.

Seems like it has, I thought the time ran out at the end of the day not at the 5th. I will amend the title.

This is really sad. But not surprising. GW have always been overly aggressive with protecting their IP, often over-stepping the mark. It's one of the reasons that I no longer support or buy from the company.

I think the stuff that went was mostly the stuff that GW C&D'd from cults, which would make sense as to why Archie can't sell it anymore. Still sucks though as if GW did any stuff like that at a reasonable price I'd buy from them, but since they don't I go elsewhere.

Yeah, it was. It's actually less Archie not selling it anymore but also that they've forced it to be deleted from Cults, MMF etc. GW don't do even close to that level of customisation for most Chapters. Having that stuff available made me want to buy Marines to convert and customise them. It was really the only thing left I was interested in from GW, because their 40k base models are mostly boring and far too safe nowadays. Without that level of customisation options, I'm not interested in what they put out.

The thing that bothers me about GW's habit of nuking STL makers is that a lot of the stuff they go after is stuff you literally can't buy anymore from GW, or that GW never made to begin with. Yes, the guy making accurate replicas of the old RT Rhino family vehicles is TOTALLY stealing sales of all those RT Rhino kits that GW hasn't sold for over 25 years. And ironically they seem pretty lax with letting proxies of stuff that IS for sale stay up. You can buy a trillion different Primaris Marine STLs of varying degrees of accuracy, but a missile launcher for the OOP Castraferrum Dreadnought or longer legs to make the Grey Knights kits scale better? Nope, we can't have those! Especially ironic given the latter being left alone would have gotten GW far more sales of the GK boxes. Makes me wonder if there's more to it than just IP protection. To say nothing of companies of far greater size being pretty chill about "IP infringing items" on 3D printing websites; as an example, there's countless Transformers upgrades and complete figures on Cults with no complaints from Hasbro (in fact Daniel Warren Johnson, one of the artists for the ongoing Transformers comics, is a self-admitted fan of unofficial Transformers toys, and even based his design for Optimus Prime on one!).
