Hagrasts Iron Warriors - The forgotten Sons

Hey hey,

 

To kick off this little blog, here are some 500-point Iron Warriors that I painted for a HH 3.0 Civil War project.

We’re currently a small group of four people, two of whom play Loyalists and two Traitors. For us, it’s not so much about the lists mercilessly crushing the opponent, but rather about building and painting together.

 

The list includes:

 

- Praevian with a shrapnel pistol

 

- 2 Castellax Battle Automata with a pair of power blades and a Mauler Bolt Cannon

 

- 10 Tactical with a Nuncio-vox

 

- 5 Centurion Command Veterans with one plasma gun, a Nuncio-vox, a Company Standard, as well as a power sword/maul and a Graviton Crusher

 

As soon as one of my friends has time and a decent camera, there will be more pictures of them. And the next list is already on its way.

Those look really good. What's next?

I like the purple (or ourple as the kids say nowadays). It's a nice contrasting color, and you don't typically see it on IW.

Next on the list is a Consul and his Support Flamer Squad, plus another Tactical Squad.
That’ll be the Space Marine section for another Warhead list.
Aside from that, I’m going to kitbash another Tyrant Siege Terminator squad.

My plan was for them not to stick 100% to the standard color scheme.
I always find that a bit boring.

A consul I threw together quickly. 
The rough sketch I made a few days ago turned out surprisingly close to how he actually looks, aside from the weapons. In my sketch, I had envisioned him with a power mace and a bolter, but I think a free hand and an axe are a bit better, especially since it feels like every one of my heroes so far has either a mace or a hammer. 
He’s meant to be part of my higher command structure, as indicated by his helmet crest, and to serve as my Warsmith’s executioner.

Great models! I really like the metal tone you've achieved - feels really menacing. The glow on the eyes & plasma is very convincing, and I too like the purple (though that could be my 3rd legion bias...! ). Looking forward to seeing the consul painted!

The Centurion will take a little while longer. 
I want to build a few more models before I break out the airbrush for priming, and I’ve got some college stress to deal with

I've started another unit.
This will be the Flamer Support Squad that will accompany my new Consul.
This time, I started with the sergeant so I could tackle a slightly more challenging conversion again.
