Loved this pretty much all the way through, from first sentence to last. I don’t know if it’s Abnett’s Magnum Opus, but it certainly deserves to be in the discussion. It’s vivid and dark and entertaining even in its glacial pace. I feel like I understand the Imperium so much better now while at the same time enjoying a depiction of a highly specific and unique culture. This is a book I’d wanted for a long time and, after so many authors tried and failed to do the concept justice, one I’d largely given up hope of seeing.

Just finished it. Yeah I liked it very much too!
It starts as a great sci-fi book and when you are remembered it's Warhammer 40k, it becomes a wild ride.
