Rowland
Guys, I’ve worked out that with my collection of figures (Space marines, Orks and Tyranids) I can make about 10 Combat Patrols. I know a new book will be coming out soon but do the different CP’s get changed/updated or do they retire some? They look very different in that some have lots of infiltration v swarms etc. So far I’ve only played Octavius v Vadenghast swarm but the rules and buffs seem to keep the game balanced and pretty interesting. Grotsmasha
IIRC, the Combat Patrols are balanced against each other, and each unit has (somewhat) unique rules to Combat Patrol that differ from their 40k rules, which means at worst, I'd expect an Errata for new new / rewordings of existing Rules, but no major changes to Combat Patrol, at least initially. Rowland
Thanks, I wasn’t sure how major changes to the rules will change the balance. We use the Core rules but the enhancements and strategems (as well as the dictated load-outs) are limited. I know there’s another GW game people are keen on Spearhead(?) but I don’t know what part of the mechanics are “better”. It looks like some of the Patrols have been around for a while so I expect/hope GW won’t retire any… My curiosity is piqued because there is to be a new “rules” book but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of chatter about it.
