Helias_Tancred
Of both lines, Model Color and Game Color. I'm not fully happy with GW's metallics, and even AP Fanatic's metallics. So I'm wondering how good Vallejo's are comparatively? Thanks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388029-opinions-on-vallejo-metallics/ Share on other sites
sitnam
I only recently got their Ruby Red metallic, and I haven't used it extensively. But it is a very impressive paint from what I saw. I'm pretty happy with citadel mettalics though, so Im not really exploring other options Helias_Tancred 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388029-opinions-on-vallejo-metallics/#findComment-6173967 Share on other sites
Evil Eye
Their Metal Colour line is widely considered the gold standard (no pun intended) for acrylic metallic paints, and for good reason. It's very, very good. Also you can 100% mix a bit of decent artist's ink in to tint it if you want other colours. Brother Christopher
I have been unfortunately to buy Vallejo Game gold paint (Polished Gold) and it was utter rubbish. Definitely the worst metallic paint I've used. Their True Mettalic line is supposed to be great, however. I also used their metallic silvers before they upgraded the formulas and changed bottles. These were fine, but worse than Citadel paints available at that time. Firedrake Cordova
Vallejo's Metal Colour line is nicer than the old formulation of the Game Colour and Model Colour lines, but limited in colours (although you can tint them). Can't comment on the new formulation of those lines as I don't have any of metallics from those.
