Do big tanky things get to shoot more weapons at once?

Guys,

I don’t have any mechs or tanks yet, however, I’m building an Impulsor and a deffdred atm and I’m slightly confused having watched some warhammer videos (mainly the Trazyn Tesseract trials stuff which I suspect is entirely different).  These weapon platforms have multiple options for firing.  Can they fire more than one weapon in a shooting phase?  i.e. can I fire rockets and a stubber during my turn?  I’m sure the rules say you can only select one weapon but are there different rules for these units that I’m not aware of?

Every unit can fire all non-pistol weapons, OR all pistol weapons in each shooting phase.  For most infantry things it'll be a single gun each, but for vehicles, especially the newer vehicles, they've got a bunch of different weapons that can all be shot at the same time.

You have to announce PRIOR to rolling ANY of the attack dice what weapons are targeting what, however; you can't shoot one weapon and then decide what to do with the next weapon.

Ah, thanks guys…I had confused myself with the line “each unit can only be selected to shoot once per phase”. But now you have confirmed…when I read on I see it says things like “all of its ranged weapons..” and more obviously “Models with more than one ranged weapon can shoot them…etc”. And I looked for and found the pistols rule…thanks, I would have overlooked that.

Hopefully my Octavius troops will be a bit handier against the Vardenghast Tyranids.

Cleon, yes, good point.

Also, being restricted to Combat Patrol, the two I currently have don’t have multiple loadouts.
