I am re-getting back into my lore building and mostly have been talking to AI but would like real people to weigh in. This is going to be a bit crunchy for some.

So, what I have is a Subsector that is in the far east of the Imperium and before the Great Rift was mostly end of nowhere then in M41 first it was the rise of the Tau that gave them constant headaches, then it was the Nids, and now with the Great Rift they are one of the few ways to cross the Rift but it is still so far east its not a convenient journey. (Other threats are Charadon Orks, Dark Eldar, and various pirates and raiders.)

Ishtar Militarum raises eight distinct Regimentos, two of which are fortunate enough to have multiple Regiment types in their Regimentos. The Ishtar Rangers are the Pleasure and Capitol world's home Astra Militarum raised from the Wardens and Gameskeepers who maintain the vast wooded lands of the Nobles of Ishtar. The Ishtar Rangers raise Light Infantry Regiments whose skill lies in woodcraft and sniping. Also from the Ishtar system are the Suaineach Stitchers, Light Infantry Jungle Stalkers whose homeworld is full of pharmaceuticals so they are not Catachans but experts in medicine and poisons. And finally of the Capitol System is also home to the Dumizid Felinid Hellcats, Felinid abuman detachments that fill in slots similar to Ogryn and Ratlings but more specifically these Felinids are experts in Savanna type pursuit, Tracking, and guarding.

The next system of the Ishtarian Subsector is the Cogger System, home to the Cogger Hive Guard. The Cogger Hive Guard are one of the few places that can make many kinds of Regiments for they are a Massive Hive world. The Cogger Hive Guard however favor producing Mechanized Infantry Regiment, but they do produce a large number of Line Infantry and Armored Regiments with the dregs and criminals making up Penal Legions. In the Cogger System the former Mining Colony now Trade Port of Arali produces the Arali Siege Sappers. These Siege Infantry Regiments specialize in undermining and fortifying tunnels and walls. Occasionally Arali could produce a Tunneler Regiment or an Artillery Regiment but this is rare in a 10 year cycle. Finally of the Cogger system the Inanis Thrashers don't come from a planet at all but are Tithe from a Void Borne population block that is quite sizable of all the mining and space clans that harvest like Asteroids and stuff. Inanis Thrashers are Heavy Infantry Breach Troops.

The third major system of the Ishtarian subsector is the Damuterr system which is home to a Forge World and an Astartes homeworld but for the Guard they get tithe honor guard regiments of Sanguinium Sentinels from the Navigator's own house guard as a point of pride. These swamp specialists are close protection guards as a regiment who bring back what it means to guard. And then the fringe has the Lunar Venatorii which comes from an Academy that pulls similar resources as the Tempetus but for different personalities and purposes. On a Knight World's Moon vast academies have been raised to produce specifically Cavalry Regiments, five different types. LV Light Cavalry are mostly on Combat Bikes and Tauros while LV main Cavalry strengthens these lightly armored fast vehicles with Chimera support. LV Air Cavalry is light cavalry seconded and operationally inserted by air to get deeper behind enemy lines. LV Dragoons are Dismounted Cavalry sometimes confused for Mechanized infantry but its a matter of psychology and tactics that separate them from that.  And Finally LV Heavy Cavalry is Cavalry expressed in Tanks are in reality the Armored Regiments version of Cavalry.

I have a lot more than this if people are interested.
