sockwithaticket
It's been a fair while since I posted and it looks like most of the links in my old thread have died, so why not start afresh? If anyone's curious as to what previous models looked like here's a link to the Dakka gallery I've used for hosting images. Currently working on this Chaplain. One of my favourite old metal sculpts. I think this is what I've completed since last posting my work here A Blackshield and a Black Templar for my Deathwatch. A couple of breachers for my Crimson Tears. Note to self - get more consistent with distance from model when photographing and with lighting. gaurdian31, Dr_Ruminahui, W.A.Rorie and 5 others 1 7 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388052-socks-40k-primarily-crimson-tears-deathwatch-and-inquisition/ Share on other sites
Dr_Ruminahui
Those models all look great - I''m looking forward to seeing more. And that is a great chaplain skulpt - I remember when it came out. At the time, I didn't like how wide the handle of the crosius is, but I've come around on that somewhat. What do you intend to do with the missing arm? gaurdian31 and sockwithaticket 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388052-socks-40k-primarily-crimson-tears-deathwatch-and-inquisition/#findComment-6174540 Share on other sites

What do you intend to do with the missing arm? Thank you. I love the sculpts of that era, so much character. This is the third of those four chaplains that I've painted. Here are the other two: That last one was done quite a while ago, definitely thinking about going back to him and sprucing up some details. The arm for the current one is sitting on a pin with basecoats done. I've replaced the bolt pistol on it and added a little blood drop symbol to a decorative flat surface on the skull shoulder pad, but otherwise it's stock. Backpack will be an old Legion of the Damned one I've added a couple of decorations to. Heraclite
isn't the last one supposed to have a powerfist? gaurdian31 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388052-socks-40k-primarily-crimson-tears-deathwatch-and-inquisition/#findComment-6174590 Share on other sites

The Pounder
Well there’s a blast from the past! Like you said those old sculpts are fantastic. Here’s hoping they can bring that level of detail back. Basing and general paint job on these is really good too! sockwithaticket, gaurdian31 and Brother Ezra 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388052-socks-40k-primarily-crimson-tears-deathwatch-and-inquisition/#findComment-6174597 Share on other sites

Yes, but I didn't particularly like the fist the model comes with, so I plucked as similar an arm to the existing one as I could find from the bits box to replace it. I think it's from one of the old metal vanguard veterans. 2 hours ago, Brother Christopher said: Lovely classic stuff and exceptional, neat paintjobs. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Thank you very much. Like most of us I certainly have my backlog/pile of shame, so there will be some. 1 hour ago, The Pounder said: Well there’s a blast from the past! Amen, I've tried to like some of the newer sculpts, but even a lot of the heresy line just feels off given these sculpts I grew up on. Thank you for the kind words on my work. Brother Ezra
Good to see you again! I have very fond memories of your work - I came across it many years ago when I was just getting back into the hobby. The colour scheme for your Crimson Tears (which is a kick-ass name, by the way) is absolutely fantastic, can't wait to see more of them! sockwithaticket and gaurdian31 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388052-socks-40k-primarily-crimson-tears-deathwatch-and-inquisition/#findComment-6174825 Share on other sites

sockwithaticket
Applied the finishing touches to my chaplain. Pretty chuffed with him tbh.
