So, something I noticed today when I was going over rules interactions. It will likely get FAQ'd a some point because it's unclear if it was intentional or not, but here's how it works now RAW

When a unit like a Command Squad joins a unit of Guardsmen, they are now a single unit for the entire game for all intents and purposes. This has been clarified by example where after a squad has been wiped out, a medic model can still revive members of the wiped squad as they are still one unit, and that Character units keep their "when leading a unit" buff even if their bodyguard is dead.

This however changes a little bit of how the Reinforcements stat works in 2 ways:
- The downside is that now the entire unit, character included, must be killed before the strat can be used.

- The upside however, is that as only the Commander of the Command Squad is the only model with the character keyword and is excluded from the revival strat; meaning that the medic and the rest of the Command Squad will return with the unit of Guardsmen.

This is of course depending on if Command Squads work the same as they do now. We have already seen GW is making tweaks to units in these updates.

Bet my sister a coke that Command Squads will get the support keyword cause that will allow them to function as they have with the least amount of changes.

Could be, though if that's the case and they do get support, you could just add it in with another leader (which would be cool) and the above would still work as I explained.
