Within 9"

Something interesting I just noticed when doing some mathhammer. 

 

The new rules say the entire squad must be withing 9" of everyone else in the squad. If you have 10 models on 28.5mm bases, and line them up touching each other in a straight line, the furthest 2 models from each other will be 8.976376" apart, just a hairs breadth inside the acceptable threshold. 

 

Should be an easy way to place squads in a line if needed without fiddley measuring all the time.

Whats the largest squad size possible now? Any units go beyond 20?

You can get up to 26 with 20 Guardsmen, a Command Squad, and an Ogryn Bodyguard. I think that's the largest? Neurotyrant and Neurogaunts are 23... Kroot Carnivores and their characters are 22.

Remember that the bases have to be within 9", not wholly within 9", so the inner edges of 2 bases can be 8.999" away, and you can put 12 models straight line base to base and be in coherency.

It's only 12 if they are the 25mm bases, the 28.5mm ones are 10 at that distance.
