Pre-stream quizzes might not be the place for official GW lore to be announced, so I’ll take it with a grain of salt.

Don’t think we’ll be getting any new loyalist Primarchs soon though, although Perty looks like he’s on his way within the next few years!

I mean Dorn is, until they retcon it.

But they did retcon it...some 25 years ago. Went from finding his body to just finding his fist, hence why GW will give him a bionic hand holding the Emperor's lighting claw when they release him as a figure for 15th edition in 2038

Yeah this is just stream stuff from the last one and not really confirmed lore other than a few quick comments.

I personally think that Loyalist Primarchs should have remained mysterious Greek God style heroes of yester year. If they are going to release models for them I'd rather they did 30k plastics.

I think Dorn may have been the first one in real world chronological order to have been mentioned as dead in the Ian Watson Space Marine novel back in '93 but it was both fists that were all that was left of him not just the one.

"In transparent stasis-cases within, with magnilenses inset, hung Rogal Dorn’s fleshless fists, entire, scrimshandered with intricately wrought tiny miniatures of heraldic honours."

Also, if I remember correctly, in the War of the Beast series, Vulkan explicitly says (or at least strognly implies) that Dorn is still alive.

It could be a mistake on Vulkan's part. Dorn was the last loyalist Primarch still active by several centuries and Vulkan had been MIA himself for several centuries before tha War of the Beast. It could be that he had not heard of Dorn's death/disappearance yet.

"Dorn is dead" is from Ian Watson's Space Marine (IIRC), which was written pre-Black Library, and without GWs input, (essentially fanfiction at the time).

Although GW has since published the book themselves, I (and many others) do not take it as canon.

Officially, Dorn is dead. Unofficially he is MIA. The problem with this is the same for the Khan and Russ. If they are still alive, why have they not attempted to return to the Imperium in its hour of need? Guilliman and Johnson both had locked in sleep/stasis stories meaning that it required an outside agency to revive them. The missing Primarchs require a bit more storytelling effort to explain why they would return now and not X centuries ago. I think that we will likely see all the surviving Primarchs return in due course because they are huge money makers and GW are too savy to leave that cash in their customers' wallets. However they have made it clear that they don't plan to rush them. Also my expectation that we would be seeing Russ soon has ebbed since we got Logan on a primarch-sized base with a pair of Wolves and a tactical rock that brings him up to Primarch-size. He clearly looks like our Primarch stand-in for the next couple of editions.

Remember, the Emperor said he could fix the headless regicide piece (Ferrus Manus) "when he had the time." Considering that, and the fact that the Emperor is "active" again, anything is on the table now. My only hope is that they do it in a way that is both in keeping with lore and awesome. Not "he woke up in a strange forest."

Also, a rule that "your army must be x points in size before you can add the primarch/special character" like back before 5th edition would be nice.
