I think Dorn would prefer to stay dead in that case. But if the Emperor is not yet the Dark King then he is the starchild, and so the message would probably be different.

 

The starchild may inspire Dorn to go forth and proclaim the Second Coming of the Emperor to be reborn unto the world as child because his power has yet not coalesced in the warp, and so requires a vector by which to return such as the womb of human female.

 

Dorn would be the only primarch who could be trusted to keep such a secret from Chaos.

It wont even take the Emperor doing it.  Guilliman was the one who sanctioned the Word Bearers for violating the Imperial Truth, he's that guy like Russ was the anti-psyker punisher.  Guilliman accepted the fate of the Imperial Truth when he realized he couldn't stop it.

I actually received a handwritten letter from James Workshop (albeit the envelope had a hydra seal holding it closed...) revealing the fate of all Primarchs as of the "present" of 40K.

Sanguinius is dead, but actually died fatally spraining his ankle shortly before attempting to challenge Horus. The Warmaster was incredibly dismayed by this, as he had been about to apologize for the whole thing.

 

Guilliman is currently trying to replace the Lectitio Divinicus with his own tome, the Book of Guilliman. Progress of widespread adoption has been stalled by poor reviews, citing the implausibility of atheist doctrine in a galaxy where gods are quite obviously real, the incredibly arrogant and condescending prose and multiple quite embarrassing spelling errors.

 

The Lion accidentally forest-walked into the Mutant Chronicles setting and refuses to leave. The Watchers are currently trying to persuade him to return, to little avail.

 

Dorn committed ritual suicide after drinking too much Amasec and addressing his Chapter as the "Imperial Feet". The whole Black Legion thing was a cover story to make his demise less humiliating.

 

Corvus Corax, having failed to kill Lorgar twice, has tried for something less ambitious and set his sights on Konrad Curze. Somehow Curze beat him three times despite being dead.

 

Jaghatai Khan got lost in the Webway and eventually escaped...straight into Lelith Hesperax's dressing room, where he made the absolutely fatal mistake of suggesting she put on some trousers. He has not been seen since.

 

Ferrus Manus became time-displaced and got a role in the CBBC sketch comedy Sorry, I've Got No Head. (That's a real show by the way. Very good it was too!)

 

Vulkan is on a one-man crusade to make the galaxy a nicer place and has become the 40K equivalent of Santa Claus. The Inquisition is investigating closely following complaints from an Eldar Craftworld.

 

Horus, following Sanguinius' pathetic accidental self-termination, had second thoughts about the whole thing and replaced himself with a cardboard cutout, before fleeing for the Eye of Terror where he is currently living a quiet life under the pseudonym of "Hongus Loopycal". The cardboard cutout still mortally wounded the Emperor via a nasty papercut.

 

Angron recently bought a tube of No More Nails, hoping it might make his unending rage a bit less unbearable. When it (predictably) failed, he became so incredibly furious that Khorne himself is hiding behind his throne until Angron calms down a bit.

 

Fulgrim is trying to get through to the Dark Mechanicum to get them to explain why his Legion suddenly forgot how to use Predators. He's currently stuck on hold, and has been listening to Vivaldi's Four Seasons for approximately 3 centuries now.

 

Mortarion is in bed with a cold. It should get better with a day's rest, but alas the Warp has extended this to a few hundred years. He's not very happy about this.

 

Magnus has been seeking various arcane relics to try and invoke a ritual to remake the past itself. Nobody knows exactly what he has in mind, though the words "Bloody character assassination" have been heard muttered from his tower.

 

Lorgar has been laughing the entire ten thousand years since the Heresy over being right about literally everything.

 

Perturabo is currently developing his greatest creation yet; a terrible technodaemonic gigacomputer known as ChaosGPT, which he believes will give him the answer to destroy the Imperium once and for all. Unfortunately he's having difficulty securing funding as GorkAI Lotz.0 recently dropped and has already taken the Noosphere by storm.

 

Konrad Curze is still dead. This did not stop him from beating Corvus Corax into submission. Three times.

 

Alpharius, Omegon and Epsilonor (the lesser known third Alpha Legion Primarch) have somehow scammed enough money from literally every single faction in the galaxy (including, worryingly enough, the Tyranids) through various ridiculous Saturday-morning cartoon-tier schemes that they are planning to buy the Imperium. 

 

The lost Primarchs and their Legions never actually existed, and any knowledge of them were false memories planted by Malcador "because it seemed like a funny idea at the time".

I would have thought the end of the Ecclesiarchy would have generated more buzz and conversation.  How long did he lay seige to the Ecclesiarchal Palace on Terra?  Did he execute the Ecclesiarch publicly?  in single combat?

For the Khan, last he was seen was chasing some Drukhari into the webway, he could be lost in there and/or just not want to come back. He always valued his freedom and that of his people very highly, riding through / exploring the webway for thousands of years sounds like something he would enjoy. (Honestly I think 12th edition is going to be SM/Drukhari starter and he'll come back either just before or just after the edition.) 

Russ is prophesied to come back at the end times or some such. He likes playing into those epic legends and being an important figure in them, so he could very easily just be chilling somewhere and waiting for the perfect moment when all seems lost to show up and play the hero.

I don't know where we got off talking about where he dismantled the ecclesiarchy and orks. That was something you came up with.
