I am going to say that Dorn is the King in yellow and has been working for the last 10,000 years to save/cause the rebirth of the emperor as the Star Child. That Valdor is his compatriot in this. I think this is area we see is the webway, not the warp and the war being fought in there is near pocket entrance to the area beneath the palace where that war has been fought to regain control of the webway and secure the emperors ability to have his remaining fragements freed/or permanently imprisoned if its the dark king half of him, so the star child can flourish.  I think Dorn has been handling the internal issues/the fight and Valdor was gathering the resources and laying the external foundations. Dorn was the only one to hear the Emperors last words/commands, what was said between the vengeful spirit and his being "placed on the throne", only Dorn and maybe Valdor knows. I think Dorn HAD to fake his death to carry out the plan he and Valdor made. Annucia based rituals come at a price, his hand may have been a sacrifice for a teleportation, or a red herring to leave behind to through people of the trail.

I believe they are laying the ground work for a 40k great crusade type revival, which may start with a purge/re-education of certian imperial factions, which will cause a minor civil war but nothing on the scale of the Heresy. Guilliman may protest initially, but if he sees Dorn and Valdor alongside the Star child, I think most of the survivng loyalists would eventually get in line. This would allow them to launch a counter strike straight into the realms of chaos. I think this is where we will get more on the Legion of the Damned, The Grey Knights etc.

Its been said enough about Blanks, custodes etc not having geneseed, but here is some additional information. They are Gene Crafted, like Biles "New Men"..... There is a difference. Genecrafting is taking what already exists in the being and manipulating it at the genetic level to modify it to a point "mutate" into the pinnicle of human genetic evolutionary potential. Geneseed is a lesser craft that modifys individuals using external and surgical modifications with little direct genecrafting. Relying on the new organs to override and mutate on certain portions of the genetic make up. In lore, true genecrafted warriors are far superior to marines.

Sanguinius was not the emperors first creation to have wings. His original genecrafted angel from the early unification wars days was far superior in strength to even the primarchs. So if that genecrafting knowledge still existed, that could have been used to make the winged custodes. The Blood Angels with wings is likely due to Geneseed modifications. I know it seems nitpicky, but they are different processes that will yeild different levels in their results, may "look the Same" but the power scale would be vastly different.

Blanks existed prior to the great crusade, so if they were from "Necron" influence then it happened more than 15,000 years ago in lore. Before the Unification etc. The Pariah Gene, maybe something that could be gene enhanced/genecrafted, and Bequin is absolutely a clone. So her being "more special" than the Sisters of Silence or the army of blanks in the pocket dimension is unlikely. The story has to have a perspective to give to show the journey, she is that very important first person perspective.

The connection between the pariah gene and the Necrons goes back to old 3rd edition lore. It is one of those titbits that is not exactly current but has never been officially retconned either. Not all the Necrons were asleep 100% of the time between the end of the War in Heaven and the 41st millennium. The Silent King was awake the whole time, Trazyn the Infinite spent some time awake gathering specimens for his galleries and was definitely awake by the Great Crusade. The other possibility is that the Necrons seeded something in Earth's biosphere during the War in Heaven that would eventually lead to the emergence of the pariah gene. After all, the extinction of the dinosaurs happened during the War in Heaven, maybe it wasn't an asteroid!

You don't think it would be major? I admit the HH isn't really my area, but I would think it would be galactic considering the Imperial Cult is.

So you're saying the necrons needed to unalive the dinosaurs?

My head-canon is the Earth was an Old One outpost or science base. The Necrons bombed it from orbit and the residue looked like an asteroid impact 65 million years later. Probably not an important base or the Necrons would have brought out bigger guns as, at their height, they has weapons that made exterminatus look like a nerf gun.

Ah because I was wondering what the significane of earth was. But I like that idea because I've been thinking of a way to get the Sleetaks (joking) or some other reptilian or saurianoids into 40k. I mean heck reptiles, the ancestors of dinosaurs and the dinos themselves lived for far longer. I would think there would be more chance of meeting them elsewhere in the galaxy as well. But now we're straying from topic... where's the recent Lizardman thread?

Honestly not really sure either, I'm relying on third party for the actual origins of the blanks.  The idea that it's not inheritable would just lead me to believe that there is tampering going on.

'm not sure how it made the transition to the new Necron lore, but originally the Necrons were studying it as something new in humanity; with humanity not existing prior to the Necrons entering their sleep. They took it to make Pariah Necrons. The updated lore has Necrons using Blackstone to repel and negate Warp effects, both during the War in Heaven and in M41. I don't know if they're still studying blanks.

I don’t think the Pariah condition has a single origin. The Ferrymen in The Emperor’s Gift show that the Pariah state can apparently be induced, though how is unexplained. Necron technology can generate a null or anti-Warp field, mimicing the effects of a blank, meaning Pariah-like effects are not exclusively tied to natural genetics. Older Necron lore says the Pariah state was crafted into humanity by the C’tan and treats blanks as a naturally occurring mutation.  Between the old Pariah gene lore, naturally occurring blanks, the Ferrymen, and Necron null technology, GW leaves a lot of room to move, so for me there are multiple canonical explanations for where Pariahs come from.  Most importantly, without this variety of pariah sources, my origin story gets a lot harder to justify ;)

Also possible.  I guess the big reveal at the end of Penitent could by a misdirection.

In my theory crafting Bequin is the origin for the Sisters of Silence.

Your theories are also fun!

Indeed. The Sisters of Silence have been around since the Great Crusade whereas Bequin was born nearly 10,000 years later in 40K
