The not-Vostroyans would be brilliant to have but honestly I am nervous given their use of AI for painted “pics”.

Never heard of them.

 

However, there is very little information provided about the business itself: no physical address, no telephone number, no name of responsible person, no official business/tax registration number. In principle, I would try to avoid ordering from any business that does provide such basic information.

 

Also, the web shop itself looks rather incomplete at the moment, listing several top level categories that do not have any actual products underneath them.

All solid advice from @Griefbringer, in this instance I get the vibe this is a solo operator just getting started. 

If they have contact info, maybe send a msg, see if you even get a response, take it from there.

The operator does mention somewhere that he does almost everything himself (sculpting, casting, packing), and that it can take time to handle orders. Also, there is mention of being based in Italy, so in case of ordering pay attention to the shipping method, tracking and insurance issues (Italian post office has had a bad reputation in past for miniature packages going missing). And if you are outside EU, you will need to naturally take care of the customs issues.

 

Another problematic issue is that in the fantasy section, there is a picture from old GW publication (Dogs of War army book, 1998) used to promote his pirate dwarves. Besides being obvious copyright infringement, this is also confusing to the customer and certainly not professional behaviour.

 

In case you are still interested in the models, there is a contact form in the website where you can try to enquire more. However, if all you are after is some "gothic steampunk cossacks in space" (aka not-Vostroyans), then there might be also other companies out there.

Thank you both for your input.

 

I reached out with a message asking if he had examples of the not Vostroyan head sprue in use and he responded by putting up a new set of product photos with them in use on modern plastic Cadians. So I’m convinced right now that there is a real hobbyist behind the site and I’ll be placing an order soon. I’ll update on what happens next. 
 

As an aside @Griefbringer, the reason I’m so interested is that they are a perfect match in style and design for the original Vostroyan infantry so I can have a ready supply of heads to kitbash without butchering my limited supply of the originals, or forking out a tenner or more in a single model on eBay just to slice it up. Having everything matching in style will make the hobby gremlin brain happy.
