No one uses Desolation Marines, why?

Desolation Marines in Shadowmark Talon can use the Suppressed Weapon Stratagem to fire and remain hidden. The implication of a giant suppressor mounted on the already disproportionned SuperKrak/frag missile launcher is hilarious!!! That being said, firing 5 SuperKrak (or 4+Vengor) and 10 Castellans on Infantry or light vehicles while remaining hidden is not nothing...

Perhaps the best way to run this unit would be to invest as little as possible and just position them in the best spots possible.

Just gut feeling on what I've seen so far so subject to change:  I think you still run out of points before you get far enough down the list to fit them into an army list most of the time.   Its not the same price point but its pretty close for 2 Eliminator units or 1 Ballistus (Or Brutalis that's kind of interesting with the Multi Melta Chest).  Two Multi Melta Invaders (that can be one unit again) A Hammerstrike, either of the two anti-tank Gladiators.... Eradicators are either cheaper for more shots, or more expensive for more bodies with WAY more shots.  There are just so many options that aren't five basic guys waiting to get alpha struck.  My gut reaction is to still go Ballistus.  My gut reaction if it HAS TO BE Infantry is to go Eradicators with multi melta.
