Ultra Stagnant Looking for Ultra Changes. What are your staple Reclmation Units?

At the risk of trying to come up with a clever title, what my true goal is to do some minor list changes.

 

My big issue has been I've been trying to avoid Gladius / Sword of Ultramar because I've been afraid of going to hard into some friends that aren't going to be able to handle it. 

 

The problem is some of the people I play are very competitive. Great people, but their lists do not pull any punches. What I've been doing is Reclamation force.

The staples I've been using are:

 

Titus + 10 Sternguard. (roasting elite OOM targets)

 

Calgar + I don't know... I switch between Hammer Termies, but I like him on the field for CP so I often put him in:

 

- Cato and 6 Victrix guard.

 

I have cut a new section out for "Fun" "new" stuff:

- 3 new Eradicators (hvy bltr)

- 2 new Speeders (fun with Fulgris detachment)

- 5 new Vanguard +1 new Chappy

- 1 new Standard bearer. (Goes with Titus and Sternguard for 5++)

 

The rest is I guess kind of standard: I tend to use a lot of armour:

- Lancer

- Landraider

- Repulsor

 

And the standard 5 Intercessors.

Now that I see it, it's quite a mixed bag. I get a lot of mileage out of it. The problem I'm having is I haven't really changed it much at all, and I also feel... 'trapped'. Like if I get rid of my armour, I'm doomed. It does a LOT of heavy lifting and to be honest the infantry is the.. gimmick. Don't get me wrong Sternguard and Victrix can do a lot in the right circumstance, they don't typically get the job done though, probably because I'm armour heavy.

 

Many of my games end like: Close battle, I've pushed the opponent back by T3, very aggressive, then it falls apart a bit, but by T4 I usually have their armour down (or nearly gone) and I'm winning in points. I usually lose board control late game, but have enough points to win.

 

 

So there you go, there's my version of reclamation, and how I use it. I'm curious what everybody else is doing.... or maybe no one plays Reclamation...? I'd love to hear what's working for you, and if you've got your own staples.
