Legends is not a perfect system. Many units have disappeared between 10th and 11th editions, such as the Spartan.

One particular unit has survived the transition to 11th and has been updated accordingly... and it's absolutely brilliant (not to mention the model is superb)

The Kratos Tank

M10, T12, SV2+, W18, LD6+, OC6

That is a very nice statline, slightly more durable than a Landraider. If you equip the Kratos with the "Optimum" weapons, you would end up with:

1 Melta Blast Gun, 24", 4 attacks, Str 12, AP-3, Damage D3+2 (Melta 3)
4 Lascannons, 48", Str 12, AP-3, Damage D3+3

1 Autocannon, 48", 4 attacks, BS3+, Str9, AP-1, Damage 3

1 Multi Melta, 18", 2 attacks, Str 10, AP-3, Damage D3+2 (Melta 3)
1 Hunter Killer Missile, One Shot, 48", Str 14, AP-3, Damage D3+3

You get this impressive vehicle and all this firepower for a very modest 240 points!

It's special rule is situational - allowing you to fire into close combat without penalty, and to remove the "Blast" keyword from weapons if desired.

Thankfully the unit stands up thanks it's profile and weapons, and can be further enhanced with upgrades and rules from the Ironstorm detachment.

I use one in my Night Lords Armored Company. I have the Choom wagon version, its fun to use, especially when sustain pops off. What you said about current vehicles leaving legends is disturbing. Going to have to make sure New Recruit keeps the Spartan and Achilles Land Raider as they are my primary heavy transports. Not good, they took all the legends stuff out of Imperial astartes. Lets hope Heresy gets legends rules because this could get very annoying. Not everyone plays in tournaments and all crusades I have ever played encourage Legends. My Night Lord army is based on a Heresy warband and I have thousands of dollars in Heresy tanks in it.

You already pay for Transporting with missed opportunity cost

I don't know... with Reiver bricks jumping over models and running 30" across the table, last thing I want is an expensive assault/shooting unit to be tied up for a turn or longer, suffering damage, by a disposable infantry missile.

No risk of them hurting a Landraider.

I've just gone through and hidden a bunch of posts in the bickering exchange. Some of those will remain hidden as they are clearly unnecessary and deliberately provocative. Others may be unhidden later after we determine if there is constructive content and edit out the unnecessary content.

Remember, we can disagree about things without being disrespectful. And if your first instinct is to insult someone, you should take a step back and think about a more constructive and respectful way of expressing yourself. Often, that means waiting. Sometimes, however, you should just let it go. Nobody needs to get the last word in, especially when it comes to very subjective issues and there isn't necessarily a right or wrong answer.

Why did you leave the one where he started it?

I'm going to be very blunt here... Saying, "...he started it" implies that you see yourself as the victim and that you don't bear any responsibility for the situation.

To answer your question, it was a judgment call, and I don't necessarily know that I hid everything that needed to be hidden. I actually sat reading a bunch of posts for quite some time, hemming and hawing over a few and ultimately deciding to leave them because some level of disagreement is reasonable. I generally have a high tolerance for conflict, so some things might be acceptable to me while being intolerable to others (and from your question, I'm inferring that your threshold for conflict is lower than mine). However, if you feel that another member posted content that is in violation of the community rules, I invite you to report that content. The staff will examine the report and the content and will determine if any action is necessary. If there are additional posts that I should have hidden, we'll be happy to take care of those, too.

You really hate transports. Why? Lol

I hate to break it to you. The Landraider and Impulsor are two of the best units in the codex!

To follow up on my earlier comment about the viability of Impusors.

We've had a lot of tournament results come in following adoption of the 11h edition codex.

The 3 most popular "chapter-agnostic" units in competitive play are:

Eradicators, Impulsors and Reivers.

It's amazing to think that we might see the Reivers get nerfed this edition.

The Impulsor will definitely be altered in some way. Some competitive players are calling it the best datasheet in the book because of how you can interact with it and the combos it unlocks.

That woudl be the B Tier Impulsor?  Space Marines Tier List & Best Units (11th Ed) | Tactical Reroll

That's in 11% of Army Lists?  Impulsor Points, Tier & Best Loadout (11th Ed) | Tactical Reroll

Of course I also have yet to see a website listing tournaments that have occurred since LAST WEEK when the codex released.

Bite your tongue sir.

I've been sitting on 20 of these lemons since release. We get our day in the sun, I will not be denied!
