Thank you BloodAngelC99. The army is completely painted.

This model is a Death Company sergeant with power fist and jump pack. I'm sure most of you will recognize the base model as one of the new veteran Space Marines.

This next model is Death Company marine with a jump pack. I tried to get him to look directly into the camera, but at the last moment he turned away to squeeze off a few shots at the Iron Warriors sitting on a shelf across the room. Without their Chaplain, these guys are difficult to control.

This model is a Death Company marine with a jump pack. The standard has no practical purpose in the game, but it is my tribute to the Third Company's last Captain. I'm sure that many of you will recognize the emblem.

This is another Death Company Marine with jump pack. His name is Seymour. His favorite past times include: slaughtering xenos, drinking the blood of his fallen foes, and long walks on the beach.

well, now his passtimes probably consist entirely of thinking he's Sanguinius in the events leading up to the final battle with Horus

love the models, what's your technique for your marines?

Thank you Armonstella. While my technique for my Blood Angels isn't that sophisticated, I do suffer a bit of OCD when it comes to painting, so I tend to paint very clean (i.e. I stay within the lines). As a result, I will spend between 2 to 3 hours on each model; from beginning to end. The DC require a bit more as they require a slightly more sophisticated technique and models such as my DC standard bearer and Chaplain even more than that (4 to 6 hours).

No doubt about that Captainwhizz.

This is another picture of the Assault marine from the first post. I'm not sure how he looks on your monitor, but on mine, the red in this photo is a bit darker and more accurately reflects the shade of the actual model (still not 100%)

Each squad in my army, with the exception of my Scout squad, belongs to the Third Company and in accordance with tradition, each model has the appropriate chapter badge, company badge, and squad badge. As you can see from his squad badge, this marine belongs to the 8th squad. Hand painting one black lightning bolt a yellow background isn't too hard, but replicating it, using roughly the same dimensions, 10 times over was a bit of a challenge. Regardless, I am happy with the results.

Those devastators are effin' byootiful Bobby Won... I mean Koyote.

Thank you Soular, but if I only had one tenth of Bobby's talent I would rule the 40K Universe with an iron paint brush.

Since you have taken a shining to my Devs, here are a few more pics.

This fellow you already know. I picked him for the photo because his missile launcher is lowered, providing one a better look at his head and chest eagle. It is hard to see in this photo, but the missile launcher does have bit of highlighting on it and the optical lens is painted using the same colors and techniques as the eye pieces on the helmet.

If a Dev isn't holding a missile launcher, then he is packing extra ammo. As you can see from his knee badge, this model belongs to the 9th squad.

This picture reminds me, that I need to go back and highlight all of my bolters.

Thanks guys.

I'd be happy to share some of my techniques, but me thinks I should put them in a separate thread.

In the meantime, let's take a break from the red guys...

The idea of Scouts in bright red armor never seemed quite right to me so I broke with tradition and made my Scouts a bit more 'stealthy.'

Believe it or not, this fella has a stuffed Land Raider and half a dozen Terminator helmets mounted on the wall of his den. It is amazing what one crazied Blood Angel Scout sergeant can achieve with a power sword and melta bombs. :(

I am a bit reluctant to post these next few pics as I still don't have the light and camera settings mastered just yet. In the photo, the red looks to have too much orange in it. In reality, the red is darker.

It wouldn't be right to collect and paint the Blood Angels' Third Company without including its most famous Captain.

In the first photo I asked Tycho to look stern. In the second I asked him to look pensive. Can you see the difference...?

Me neither. :(

While I am on the topic of HQs, I thought I would show you a few other HQs that I have painted over the years.

The first is my original Chaplain. In my current GT army he has been replaced by a Chaplain armed with two lightning claws.

The base for this model is the the 'classic' Blood Angel Sergeant 1. The Chaplain accessories were clipped from a metal SM Chaplain model.

This next model is my original Librarian. Like my first Chaplain, he too has been replaced. The storm shield was made from a decorative plate taken off the plastic Chaos vehicle sprue. I turned his staff into a glaive by clipping off the end of the staff and replacing it with a plastic blade from an Ork sprue.

Again, the colors in the photo are kind of screwy. :(
