They are a 13th founding chapter created to protect the strategically sensitive planet of Osira and the nineteen planets and forty seven moons in the outlying solar system around Osira from a massive ork Waaagh! At the time of their founding they were know as the Watchers of Osiris. The very first chapter master took the title of Osiris in honour of his new chapter and homeworld.. The watchers had barely fifteen years to set up there defenses and monastery before the orks descended on the planet like a swarm of locust. The battle brothers were still fresh and untried when they joined the fight against the veteran greenskins. The casualties were horrendous on both sides as the orks drove the space marines back. The Watchers achieved very few victories in the first days of the invasion. By the fourth year of the invasion the marines were down to fifty percent company strength. Despair was starting to overwhelm the Watchers as the orks strength never seemed to cease. The watchers, due to the orks blocking the shipping lanes were unable to receive supplies from the adeptus mechanicus. They took to using ork weapons and patching their armour with ork armour plates. By the end of the fifth year the Watchers had come to resemble the orks they fought, decked out with crude plates and crude orkish weapons. During this time Osiris sank further and further into depression and despair, his faith slowly crumbling. It is unknown as to when he finally threw away all hope and faith in the Emperor. Soon after a fleet of khornate war vessels arrive in system, they cut a swathe through the ork fleet and dropped planetside. Osiris met up with the mighty battle hardened forces of the Apostate Apophis and made pacts with him and renounced his holy vows. With the aid of the mighty khornate forces the watchers swept the planet clean in under a month gaining valuable experience. On the eve of the orks destruction Apophis came to Osiris and demanded he prove his allegiance to Anubis (khorne) by slaughtering the remaining inhabitants of the planet. Osiris would not do such a thing and so he and Apophis came to blows. Osiris ordered his men to slaughter Apophis bodyguard as the rest of his forces were outside hunting down the last of the orks. The blood lust filled Watchers descended upon the bodyguard slaughtering them all. Apophis and Osiris traded deadly blows. Osiris fell back exhausted and Apophis gloated victoriously. Osiris never knew where the new strength came from but he lashed out faster the Apophis believed possible and cleft the mighty warrior in two shearing him from head to crotch with a blow from his power sword. In the ensuing uncontrollable blood lust the watchers fell upon the remaining inhabitants of the planet and those loyal battle brothers who would not renounce their faith. Brother slew brother in an orgy of blood letting, the loyal brothers were too few and swiftly overwhelmed. When the blood lust settle Osiris was appalled to see what he had done and knew he would never escape the revenge of the imperium for his betrayal. He gathered up all the warriors on the planet. He called out the mightiest champion among the khornate forces and slew him as if he were a child. The rest of the warriors got the point immediately. Osiris left his devastated world, taking Apophis fleet he headed into the Abydos Gate to learn further about Anubis the god he now served. He renamed the warriors under his command the Apostates of Anubis in honour of their saviour. Homeworld The planet of Osira was once one of the most beautiful jewels of the Imperium. After the ravages of the orks the planet was reduced to a wasteland. After the destruction of the orks the planet started to recover. After learning of the Apostates betrayal the inquisitor Svelis Nore arrived in orbit to exterminatus the planet. The Apostate fleet appeared from the warp to defend their homeworld. They destroyed many of the inquisitor ships, capturing others in teleportation and boarding torpedo attacks. However as they destroyed the inquisition capital ship Svelis fire the cyclonic torpedos turning the once beautiful Osira into an airless wasteland. Combat Doctrine The apostates have given into the doctrines of Anubis, favouring the mighty khopesh or the bronze axes. However Osiris now Akhen Anubis still recognized the benefits of armoured support and heavy weapons. Half of his force is combat orientated and the other bolter and ranged weapon armed Apostates. The only armoured support Akhen Anubis has any faith in is the mighty predator and makes use of them where ever possible. Beliefs The Apostates believe the Imperium is weak and infirm of purpose and the only one who can save mankind is Anubis. They have great orators amongst their numbers who have turned whole planets to their cause. Those of the Western Lion wait to send you to the Court of Amun . Foul deluded servant of the corpse god, there is room at the foot of the skull throne for yours. I will happily deposit it there myself and all you deluded lapdogs of a powerless and uncaring corpse. Your so called Imperium is as dust in the eyes of Anubis. Thanks guys glad you liked it, i'm extremely happy with how it turned out, waiting for my bro to get paid then i shall have pictures. One question, are you going to be following the World Eaters doctrines, or will it be a Khorne heavy Undivided force? Either way, it sounds good. Looking forward to more. Later.
