Noir is just what it sounds like, it is a world locked in perpetual darkness/twigh light. It is at the utmost distance from its sun that a planet can be in order for it to be habitable. This being said it does not suffer from extreme heat or cold. Because of its 4 moons its lunar cycle causes constant rain and fog, making it a rather depressing place. Its axis; rotation and four orbiting moons Noir gets very little ambient sun light. The light it does receive for about 4 hours a day is the reflection of light off its moons which equates to a very dim morning twigh light. They temperature is constantly moderate there are no harsh winters but there are also no sweltering summers either. The rain showers last for 20-30 minutes a day. There is a large militant civilization on Noir which is rated as pre gunpowder...only because the whole sale use of it as a weapon has not been discovered yet. The society is rich in culture and equivalent to earth during the late Dark ages; with constant class struggle and wars between aristocratic powers seeking to gain more power and control.

It is a feudal world with many different civilizations. But all the civilizations religious beliefs tend to center around a series of Dark Lords and prophets. The religions on this world seem to link together and revolve around Maabe the Lord of Darkness and the Underworld. He has also been known as the Blood God, Haedritic, Maleficence and Gollocundia to many of the sects. These zealots believe that only in pain are they allowed to reach a heightened state of enlightenment. This means that only a person who has led a harsh and brutal life can pass through the gates to the Underworld. Once there they can achieve salvation and freedom from eternal darkness. The societies of this world also practice minor ritual self mutilation, animal sacrifice, ritual piercing, ritual blood letting and many other rituals in honor of Maabe.

 

 

Obviously because of the absence of ambient light there skin is very fair, and most of them have dark eyes. The majority of the people have a rich deep blue eye color. 1 in 4 people are color blind but all have incredible night vision equal to that of a predatory bird that hunts by night.

There society is broken down into a class system structure: the working class (The Etrusians), the merchant class (The Marchavi}, the military or lesser nobility ( The Noblis Milos), the ecclesiastical (The Prioritans) and the ruling faction/aristocracy (The Eros Noblis). There is absolutely no upward mobility in this society, although a merchant may be monetarily more wealthy then a lesser Noble from the military class, he does not have the same rights nor privileges as the noble. If there is an attempt to manipulate this, the punishment is extremely harsh possibly even death.

Noir has been cast in a continuous history of bloody conflicts and wars between the remaining seven kingdoms. The last war was over 140 years in length and was responsible for the deaths of millions of warriors and commoners alike. There has been an unstable truce among the 7 major kingdoms since then, but it is a very fragile truce that could be easily broken under the right circumstances.

 

It is been suggested that at one time eons ago this world may have been tainted by chaos, although there are no known remaining elements of chaos it self there are many signs in the development of these people and there culture that this possibility remains. These people are also very supersticious and do believe in ghosts, demons angels etc.

 

It was believed that the world of Noir had been used as secret grounds of recruitment and resource for the Night Lords during and after the Heresy, when they would venture out of the void. They had been know to operate there fleet and assaults from this region.

It is also believed that prior to the Great heresy during the Emperors Grate crusade. The Emperor accompanied by Sanguinuis himself stepped foot on the soil of Noir. There they hoped to find some evidence for one of the missing Primarchs. It is also believed that it was Sanguinuis and the Blood Angels years later, that drove out or away the evil. This evil is most likely refrence to the forces of Choas.

 

Although there is no definite proof or record of this in The Blood Angels records. There is reference in the Haedritic Manuscripts of a Great Warrior Azalin Kaine, a man with a Dark bitter sadness rescued the world from a grim evil. It is said that he ruled this world and united the kingdoms for several hundred years, until one day the Dark storms that had long covered this world relented. He and his high lords left to find there brothers. He swore that he or his descendants would one day return from the heavens to lead these noble people out of the grim darkness.

It was not until The Night Lords returned to this regions centuries after the Heresy, That this world of perpetual darkness came into the light of the Imperium once more. The Night Lords seeking to find a new world to claim as there own and to launch strikes in to the heart of the False Emperors reign.

When an Imperial scout ship (The Odyssey) picked up the Night Lords fleet in the region it immediately sent an encrypted message to Terra before it was discovered and destroyed. The encrypted message was received by the Blood Angels who had been in a near by system purifying the sector from a chaos incursion. The Blood Angels under Immoblis Scipeo Immediately responded. They launched an all out offensive in space and on the planet to turn back the taint of chaos from this world. Surprisingly, during the conflict, the Dark Warriors of this primitive world fought bravely and nobly along side the Blood Angels and the Imperial forces.

Ok I will keep the name Brother Bloodwraith....and I have cut and pasted your idea into the fluff....I will go back later and tidey everything up. Once I get the decals I ordered and get them on, I will take some pics...and try to figure out how to add them.
