These were actually started during the downtime, and I've been working on them on and off, together with the rest of my army. Anyhoo, considering this is the one unit I've spent the most time working on... I thought I might as well share. they are still WIP... heh... StratoKhan Posted May 29, 2006 Share Posted May 29, 2006 Beautiful. I love the poses, the extra purity seals, the painting... There's a massive list of things you've done really well. Can't wait to see them finished. I am impressed by the Assault Cannon gunshield, that was a great addition. Same with the extra armour plasticard additions. Have you bulked the Termis out w/ plasticard, and if so are they larger than normal ones? What I see seems to suggest they are more upright and also larger. Really great work, thanks for sharing. It was inspired by one of the old termis I had which had a shield on the assault cannon arm... well at least there was a peg there that fit a shield... so I stuck one on. These are just a tribute to it. The IG HB shield just happened to fit perfectly so I left them there since the WIP. They have since grown on me. I never reallie did like the new termis... at least just certain aspects of them (it'll be a lie if i said I hated them... I've got 25 of the new ones... :rolleyes: :devil: ) I've always felt the legs were too far apart, and the legs bit too thin. I too loved the servo at the waist of the old ones, so I decided to try to get an inbetween. Took me almost a year to figure what i wanted to do with them... so erm... this has been a loooonnng project for me... but it is something I am proud of. The termis were sliced in half through their crotch (ouch! :wacko: ) and filed down and rejoined to make the legs less spread out. Side armour on the thighs and legs and torso was added. A groove was cut into the lower section of the torso to allow movement for the waist servo. The termis are wider, rather than being taller. They are about the same height as the current as I didn't reallie feel they needed to be taller. Looking at the pics, the stuff I loved about the old termis was the bulk of the body in comparison to the pads. The bulkier torsos IMHO look more in line with the larger pads the termis now have. I'm not too keen on the assault cannon gun shield, it really makes the whole thing look even more unbalanced, also with all that effort I'm surprised not to see drilled barrels, still some great work there and plenty of inspiration for when I get round to doing my own termi's.
