WIP sniperscout

Recommended Posts

So I've been lurking and replying alot on the B&C, and my dad finally got

a digicam last week. And thus you get to see this:

http://members.lycos.nl/erwinbeens/sniper1.jpg

It's a scout sniper I did before the new plastic snipers were out

(I started right after the first plastic scouts came out, but I'm very slow) :)

The sniper rifle is made up of the back of a lasgun (cadian plastics),

as is the muzzle, the barrel is that of a pulse rifle covered in GS cloth.

The scope is from a plastic scout boltpistol.

I also added the sheaved(sp?) sword on his back (cuz I like it)

and I covered the mouth with some more GS cloth (can't really see that in

this pic, though)

I'm really pleased with the GS work, though his right wrist is a bit awkward

if you look it it from certain angles :(

But all in all I'm happy with the result. I only fear that my paintjob will not

do the modelling much honour (I'll try as hell though  )

C&C welcome

-kmarines

PS: I like my version of the sniper rifle better then the GW version,

but that's just taste, I guess

edit(2): here is a pic where you can see the face a li'l better.

its nice work but the scope on the rifle looks wobbly. It's at a slant and therefore makes the rifle seem flimsy. Get the rifle, hopefully the focal point of the model, as straight and lethal-looking as possible and you got a dang fine scout there, trooper!

Q :D

yeah you're right there Quannum, but it's REAL ffing hard to straiten those little pieces, it's a wonder that the barrels came on to the back of the weapon that strait. I'm gonna leave it as is and hope it looks better when painted (black paint does wonders :) )

if it still looks odd and flimsy I'll reposition the scope
