3 Command Squad Members

Recommended Posts

Well I ordered the FW Red Scorpians (and some individual Rippers because they're cool  ) a few weeks ago, and have had them sitting around for about a week, even sorted out with other bits to assemble them with. I decided to be productive while I put off studying for exams, and made 3/5 of the squad before I ran outta steam...

Anyway, here they are. I've got an apothecary and another plasmagunner on the way.

First, the sergeant, equipped with a chainsword and storm bolter. Pics don;t show it, but he's standing on a skull.

Now, the plasmagunner with armor re-enforcements.

A regular bolter marine, holding off a ripper. (I managed to actually find a way to use them!)

Sorry for the oddly colored pics, my camera is acting up....

There are still things to touch up, namely GS, which I have no skill what so ever with. That in mind, any C&C is greatly appreciated!

Nice! I espescially like the ripper.

I don't think your camera is acting up.

A strong amber color is natural for indoor (tungsten) lighting.

You can compensate for that with some camera settings.

It usually compensates for this... and I can't get it to do that again. It was also doign some really weird version of focussing.

I would suggest turning the head of a ripper guy to face the ripper. It doesn't look too real with him looking away...

why not? he's a space marine, it appears he's focused on another target anyway. i think he is perfectly capable of such a task.

Yeah, I considered putting teh ehad like this, but where there is one ripper, there are usually more 'nids, at least of the same size. And if I've got one enemy under control, I'd rather shoot his buddy who is jumping at me. It just captures the cold efficiency I imagine marines to have. ;)

I've always like extra armour on marines toting plasma weapons, and since I dont have much experience with plasticard, I took an easy route. :)

Thanks for the comments guys.... now to finish the squad, or finish painting the first squad of the army. :tu:
