Imperial fists chest eagles

Recommended Posts

The chest eagles have a pink hue, so I think they used white to highlight them instead of the more common method of using orange.

So my guess would be this.

Red gore basecoat followed by 3 parts red gore and 1 part skull white highlight and then a 50/50 Red gore and white highlight at the top. If this turns out to bright and pinkish a wash with red ink should tone it down.

I don't know how they do theirs, but I do a basecoat of red gore, highlighting with blood red, and extreme highlights of blood angels red. It looks *almost* orange, but that's the way I like it!

For Imperial Fists you want a very deep rich red to compliment the bold yellow. The best way to achieve this would be a base coat of red gore with blood red highlights as previously mentioned, but to avoid any orangey hue which doesn't really help with a yellow color scheme try an extremely dilute wash of warlock purple. Doing this will keep your reds looking red and give a nice level of contrast for the eagle details.
