As for the painting, the only thing I would fix is to make the highlights thinner and sharper and to tighten up the chapter badge. It's really not that hard, layer/blend in this order: scorched brown scab red red gore blood red fiery orange bad moon yellow bleached bone skull white I suppose a different orange or yellow won't really matter, but bad moon is nicely bright and fiery orange is pretty "strong". Now, when you are at yellow, don't go to white, go to bleached bone first, skull white is "flat", bleached bone is "warm", don't be afraid if you see some stripes or a less subtle difference between layers on some spots, it makes it look more like fire instead of a smooth lightsaber-esque effect.
