Kurgan the Lurker
Sangre did this for his Legio B&C Contest entry just after we moved over to Invision: http://www.duckblindminiatures.com/frater/entry32-1.jpg Cut the barrel off and shifted the clip up to the left side of the bolter. flyinghippo
Sorry NemFX but I can't even make out those pictures. Do you think you could borrow a camera and get some better pics for us? @GeneralStukov: I'll get some new pics up for you tommorow.
Master Toddius
Great Idea on redoing this thread, flying hippo. I also have been doing searches on bolter conversions. And its a shame that alot of those previous links are lost. There were some seriously great ideas shown there. Although you've hit on alot as well :P Do you think that this post would be best on the tutorial section? This is more like a finished bolter idea thread in my mind ;)
GeneralStukov
I'd love to see more bolters thrown onto here and perhaps sticky this in tutorials if possible and we get some ideas and some WIP shots done..
wokkers
i agree with GeneralStukov. Could the mods make this a sticky. I think its a very important topic for marine players. @Kurgan: are there any other angles on that bolter conversion?
Kurgan the Lurker
Wokkers, if you check the past contest threads there is a link to all the entries for the LBC contest. Should be some other shots though I'm not sure how well they show the bolter.
Penguin of Death
Does anyone remember an army where the marine had P90 style bolters, not just Bullpups but actually looking like the P90?
flyinghippo
Sorry, that took longer than I expected. Some of the pics have been updated. The other ones were at the time of pictures taken still WIP and un-high-lighted (my raptors sorta got put on hold). I have since finished them but I have yet to take some pics of them. I will try to get them up as soon as school allows. Keep submitting your conversions.
Gyson_Vore
Just a question, but would the bolters from the Land Raider Crusader sprue work on infantry models? I like the drum running the same way as the body of the gun, seems more streamlined than the side drums.
Dominar_Mortis
@Penguin of Death: that would be Penitent Dreadnought p90's made from thr missile laucher arm and the OOP rhino bolters DM

Elusive
There used to be a number of other alternate bolter pics floating around. A couple of under arm styles, one I have in my ideas folder by theripper_42. Nidlimpopo also had a number of different styles, although all save one were done up in a drawing program, but they were very good. I also seem to remember a picture with about 10 or so variants that had actually been modeled, but I don't seem to have saved it to my hard drive and I don't know where it got to. A guy named vega also had a number. I don't know where they are on B&C but I have most of these on my hard drive.

The_Chaplain
wokkers, how did you do the drum magazine on that bolter?
Psychologic
wokkers, how did you do the drum magazine on that bolter? It looks like a grenade drum from the IG grenade launcher. Looks good, I might try it myself too. I have a ton of those things just laying around.
cypher_zero
Well, this isn't a bolter conversion, but I thought I'd post it here nonetheless for those of you that haven't seen it on my army thread. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/cyp...ne/HPIM0236.jpg As you can probably guess, the green thing is one of the green necron things - cut down to fit. Also, if you do intend to use this conversion, paint first, then glue it in (duh :tu: ). That'd be impossible to paint around. cypher

captain_shrike
I know I'm bringing up an old topic but its for a constructive reason. How do you do the drum mags? I thought they were scratch built but the one above looks like its a piece from another model. Which model would it be?

Brother SRM
i get drum mags from ork shootas - with a bit of knife work you can get em off easily enough i've seen people who've used the clips for autocannons of the IG heavy weapons sprue, but i think that looks too big

fumble
Hi Spikey James, On the picture of your bolters, looking the 2 with the straight mag at the top, where do you get the part on top of the wooden foregrip ? Your bolters look very good - I've placed an order on grenade launchers, and I'll try to replicate you bull up option. It looks like you're using the autopistol from the assault weapons sprue, is that right ? Anyway, here's an idea I had some time ago for a "sniper" bolter, to be used by the combat squad that stays with the heavy weapon to shoot from a distance : http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb228/oxford-fumble/WH40K/Lion%20Guard/SniperBolter.jpg Just glued the stock and barrel of a lasgun - some trimming needed to make a smooth transition and all, but the spirit is there... I thought I'd also point you to some excellent bolter and stormbolter conversions by Lord Magyar. Cheers, Fumble.
