The Bolter Conversion Thread

Recommended Posts

the top part is from a kroot rifle. as for the bull-pup there's a few parts in there, the barrel part is from a combi-melta and there's again a part from a kroot rifle and obviously a bolter aswell, can't remember much else as it's been over a year since i did these.

oh and the bolter you've done above is nice, could almost be a sniper version.

Just out of interest, has anyone tried a staff-mounted bolter?

Kind of like using a grey knight weapon but mounting the bolter on it, or using similar parts, to represent 'true grit' rule?

Ive seen a GW person do it with the nemesis weapon but wondered if anyones attempted to do it from scratch?

ok this is mine from 2 1/2 years ago. MP 7/K pattern space marine bolter + flash suppressor

i know, mines not as complicated a conversion as most of the work on here although some of those i did had grips under the barrel housing and targeters/scopes. i was looking for a simple solution to a problem i had, which was equipping 3X 10 man squads with silenced bolters to be used in the night fighting rules, so that they dont reveal their positions when they fire their weapons. i needed to replicate the design quickly and in the end i made the full 30 troopers which then got donated to a good buddy of mine who needed 3 squads of tactical troops. i kept one of the ones i was happiest with just to remind me to do this particular modification to my next space marine contingent which turned out to be Dark Angels again lol, surprise surprise ~grins~

on another note the original rogue trader grey knights had halberds which incorporated bolters** in the haft behind the blade.

** (which fired consecrated and blessed psycannon rounds)

i will see if i can dig one out for you.

+++ Edit +++

GW no longer sells the original Grey Knight models, apologies for the dead link.

Heres a picture of my recently converted bolter. Its more of a bolt-rifle.

I used a lasgun for the front and a small length of plasticard tubing and also moved the clip from the bottom to the side.
