Task Force Armageddon

They're supposed to Northern Italians, right?

::cuss: Really? I never knew. :(

I'd also like to see Soular's models!

Ah! Yet another request. How many more votes do we need to form a majority? I imagine that the B&C operates more like the Imperium than a representative democracy. I guess the Inquisition can melta my question in the event that sovereign edict always prevails over majority.

But, what if we said, "Please?"

BTW Koyote: How about them tutorials!

Let's get back to the red guys.

Time to break out the heavy weapons.

Now that tactical squads can have them, I have two multi-meltas in my army. Not a great shot of this model, but you get the idea.

Of course, where would any Space Marine army be without the ubiquitous lascannon? This gunner belongs to the 3rd squad.

Plasma cannons are your friend. If you can fit one into your army, I highly recommend it. This gunner belongs to the 6th squad.

maybe your guys dye?

Captainwhizz may have unlocked the darkest secret of the Blood Angel chapter -the Blood Angels are not natural blondes! And you thought the screams coming from labyrinth beneath the Tower of Amareo were the cries of the mad. Not at all. Bleaching with peroxide can be very painful. ;)

Reasoning that squad assignment is based on a novice's aptitude, I concluded that the most aggressive Blood Angels are assigned to Assault squads after scout training. With this understanding, I thought that perhaps the most aggressive Blood Angels may develop some physical peculiarities over time, which may be the source of some of the dark rumors that haunts this Chapter.

This was the reasoning behind my choice of heads for my Assault squad sergeants. Another interesting feature of this model is the 'Rogue Trader era' power fist.

My second Fast Attack pick in my GT army is an Attack Bike squadron. My original GT army had two squads of attack bikes, but my most recent list includes only a single squadron of bikes.

For those who do not know, assault marines are trained to operate jump packs, bikes, and land speeders so that they may be deployed in whatever transport best suits their mission. And since my army represents the Third Company, any such models must belong to one of the two Company's assault squads -either the 7th or the 8th squad. With the 8th squad already represented in my list as a 10-marine Assault squad, then that leaves the 7th squad to operate the attack bikes.

Notice the knee pad on the driver of this bike (7th squad). The same holds true for all the drivers and gunners on each of my attack bikes.

With four attack bikes in my original GT army (8 marines total), I thought it fitting that the sergeant for the 7th squad be present as well. It is difficult to see in this pic, but the driver of this bike has both 'pointy teeth' (as explained above) and the proper sergeant chest plate.

One more shot.

what's the "proper sergeant chest plate"?

'Proper' was a poor choice of words as it implies 'correct' and that was not my intention. I was simply referring to the chest plate with the high neck guard that comes on the plastic SM sprue with the missile launcher, flamer, and sergeant accessories.

You can (sort of) see it in the picture of this model.

I REALLY need to go back and highlight my bolters... ;)

This is Codicier Faust.

Grey Knight models make wonderful Librarians. They may lack all the fancy headgear of Librarian models like Tigurius, but they do have plenty of purity seals and at least one open book icon. Besides, I prefer swords and glaives to staves anyway.

Tycho and Faust rarely take to the table anymore, but when they do they are accompanied by an Honor Guard, as befits their rank.

As I mentioned in another post, I decided that in my army, the Honor Guard would assume the position of the 1st squad in my Company organization -hence the squad badge. In addition, the 2nd edition Angels of Death codex indicates that Honor Guard display a black skull icon on their right shoulder guard (this changed in 3rd ed.), so I used a molded DC shoulder pad to represent this.

And it just ain't an Honor Guard without a Sanguinary Priest...

My Tactical squad models are unexceptional as they were painted years ago under a tight deadline and at a time before the new Space Marine paradigm where each Space Marine is now treated as an individual hero with his own unique panoply.

you forgot the skull on the helmet! paint it now, or go to bed!

Ugh! Or don't! I always cut off that skull before gluing the helmet on the model, it's so unsightly.

Koyote, I love that your marines' armor looks battle worn, but the Chainmail on Blood Red looks a little stark without putting a scratchy area of Chaos Black on first. Paint the black first and a little bigger than you anticipate the actual scratch being so that it looks like the black draws the outline of the scratch when you paint the metallic color over it. The black represents either an undercoat to the BA armor that was partially revealed when the armor was scratched or scorch marks. Either way, having black surrounding the metal is easier on the eyes and gritty. GW tanks mostly use this if you can't really picture what I'm saying.

Your minis are clean enough to eat off of, so this technique might make them look too battle worn and dirty.

Here's a GW example: http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/spa...dreadnought.htm

Lotharthehuscarl is absolutely right. This is a great technique. I use it on my competition and centerpiece models. However, most of my Blood Angels are only painted to a 'table top' quality, so took a number of shortcuts painting them -I didn't even highlight my bolters.

This is the most current incarnation of my Master of Sanctity. The base model for this conversion is the Raptor Aspiring Champion. I sawed off the chaos shoulder pads and replaced the taloned feet with plastic SM feet and green stuff. The grail is a Bretonnian banner pole bit. The Rosarius comes from Lemartes' bolt pistol. Most of the other accessories were taken from the new plastic SM command sprues. The face and head looks odd because most of it has been replaced by bionics covered by a mask of skin. The mouth of the model is a vox speaker (those aren't teeth).

I was finishing this model the night before the tournament so I took a few short cuts that I now regret -such as the inside of the cup.
