Hi there !

Working for a while on my armys and even if it's not quite finished it's on a good way..
Feel the need to share theme with you guys :smile.:.

First of all some of my Carcharodon army :

The Oromatua "The Soul eater", "8th tithe" of the Oblivion's predators company .

Not " Who", young brother, the question is "What".

Cause Oromatua is not a name, it's a title.
Own by the warrior who wear the red marks.. Exiled among the exiled. Keep in the depths of our mighty battle barge the Hemiodon..
Never stand among us. Never honouring the Void father in the light of the Pale nomade's sons. His sol presence unbearable. He is a ghost praying on the minds, a perfect natural weapon and a curse.. He is the "8th teeth" A tribute clam only among the Oblivion's predators battle shoal.. Only Isodon Saal can declare a raid for the "8th teeth".
A raid could last for decades. Ending When the 8th teeth is entered in is Armour and the red marks applied.

The red marks protect us.. They keep "Te Kore" at bay, they trap emptiness inside the armour. Prevent it to devour our souls. Even for creatures of the cold darkness of the void.. The waters where the Soul eater drag yours are too deep for us.

The red marks are powerful, Master Saal have made theme himself.. but the things that lurks beneath care less of them when the water get bloody..
I've seen him fight ones. In the Malaon cluster. Alone in his own darkness, creating his red path with is Koa. . He was slaying the abhuman elite cadre of the psycho-guild like their were toys..
They event couldn't Strike back at him. Lost in their screams like if their souls were tear apart ..
The few of our brother too deep in their fury to keep their distances, fells as certainly as our enemies in the wake of the Oromatua.
Rumours even tells that one of them could be at the origins of the Corcyran massacre..

But what I know for sure, is that among the Oblivion's predators some sharks feed on others..
Never forget it".

( if you are asking why the tau gun, it's just to represent the special gun of Kaedes nex and for the most part it's just that I wanted to try a light effect.. just an aesthetic issue ^^)

EHMAHGERD !! So much awesome here !

 

Nex stole my breath away, he's just perfect. The best representation of him i have seen so far ! And the Markings are absolutely brilliant, varying their color and intensity on different armor panels brings some great depth the the miniatures.

 

What did it for me where the fins on the dread though haha .

 

I have been playing with a similar theme here , And your minis go straight into my inspiration folder :wub.: .

 

Keep them coming !!

Haha ! A fellow freehands maniac ! Look like we are on the same page ! :smile.: Really love your Tartaros it was on my calandar but you just did it and it look great ! I agree on what you said though I think some variation on your patterns could be grate and to had some totaly black parts on your armours could help them emerging and define properly your shapes (don't know if I'm clear my English is in a training phase ^^) keep on :wink:

 

The feathers on the Raven Guard make him look suspiciously Tzeentchii in my eyes.

 

That's ... Heresy ! but you are maybe right .. From witch Ordo have you said you came from ? ^^

I was toying with starting some Carcharodons before I saw yours on pinterest yesterday and I think now it's gonna have to happen. Your amazing freehanding skills actually inspired me to try something similar on the Leviathan I'm currently working on :D Awesome work brother I'll definitely be following this thread intently.

Wow, really amazing work here! The tribal markings are awesome for the carcharodons, even though maybe they look somehow out of place in the raven guard (while still looking awesome), but each one paints his armies as he likes. Will definitely keep an eye on this thread, so much cool models so far!

Stellar work on the tribal markings and appropriating the Khornate miniatures.  Excellent use of bits to make the Carcharodons look especially brutal. Your Khârn looks so much more dynamic than that modely usually does.

Love Sharrowkyn and the Dark Furies, they look a lot better than the official models imo. Sensible posing too, which really helps.

@The Traitor : Thanks :smile.:  For the marking I'm convince that the exiled raven guard are a huge part of the Carcharodons origins story. Knowing that the early raven guard Legionaries bears some of the Xerik tribes tattoo (Not those swirl style marking from Delivrance that you can find in the HH book) and that the Carcharodons style Polynesian tattoos were driven from this. I assume that a bunch of exiled raven guard on a nomad predation fleet could have return to the old customs of their Terran roots, bearing the Xeric tribes tattoo as I (personaly) conceived theme ^^. I've try to made a mix between the swirly style and the more traditional Polynesian patterns so far :smile.:

We will go with something special now ! Not long ago I've got the idea of making a Diorama for the upcoming book of Robby Macniven : Carcharodon" Red tithe" Where Carcharodons fight night lords (Just a dream came true :wub.:) .

With his agreement I get some infos on the main characters and made my project go through :smile.: (Thanks to him !)
