  1. Are there any of the 18 worlds left? I would like a couple of squads of Black Falcons veterans to see some action in the crusade. Am dealing with life and an unfortunate bout of writer's block but I want to get them involved. Maybe to forge a semi-friendship with a brother Chapter or possibly to shed some light on the mistrust between them and the Black Judges. Any input is welcome.
  2. Nice to see that the Black Falcons have a few friends. Here's how they see the rest. Blades of the Lion- neutral Iron Ravagers- trust All Seers- neutral Black Judges- distrust Doomsayers- neutral
  3. Thanks... I'm not really savvy on some of this stuff. :-)
  4. How do I get the banner for The Liber Cluster?
  5. +++++The Suppression of the Thravian System+++++ Upon arrival to the planet Thravis Prime, the Black Falcons Sixth Company assisted by two squads of First Company veterans found that communications with the planet as well as the rest of the system had fallen completely silent. Led by First Captain Reinhardt they made planetfall outside the Capitol city of Lanholm. They soon found a gruesome scene. Piles of bodies left to rot out in the open, many mutilated beyond recognition. Upon further inspection they discovered that the wounds in the corpses had been made by Astartes weapons. Reinhardt ordered the bodies to be burned and had Sixth perform systematic sweeps of the cities buildings, most of which were still intact. Upon reaching the Governor's Palace, they were surprised to be greeted by a squad of Marines from the Fourth Company, who led Reinhardt to where Captain Therrien was waiting. Reinhardt confronted the wayward Captain and discovered that he and the Fourth had carried out a months long campaign of terror upon the citizens of not only Thravis Prime, but the entire system. The Marines would perform nightly raids on major cities causing terror and panic. Often people would turn on each other in fear and desperation. To show evidence that the system had turned on the Imperium, Therrien presented the bodies of several high ranking officers within the Sereiki Lions. It is not known at this time wich factions these officers belonged to. Although the evidence of the Thravian System's treachery was overwhelming, Captain Reinhardt was furious at tactics used by Therrien. Captain Dransk of the Sixth had to intervene as heated words almost came to blows. Reinhardt ordered Therrien and the Fourth to regroup aboard their Strike Cruiser Osprey and return to The Chapter for judgement. Therrien refused and produced s captured communicae from the Lions to their operatives on Thravis Prime. It said three words... We are coming... More to come.
  6. +++++ Chapter Communicae +++++ +++++ Priority Message: Alpha +++++ First Captain, Naytan Reinhardt Upon arrival to the Thravian system, evidence was found of the 4th Company but no Traces of Captain Therrien and our Battle Brothers. Augurs detected a signature similar to that of the strike cruiser Osprey but due to a massive asteroid field surrounding the edge of the sytem further investigation was hindered. We have encountered no resistance and communications in the system have fallen silent. We will make planetfall on Thravis Prime within the hour. +++++ End transmission +++++ Captain Reinhardt stood on the bridge of the battlebarge Wings of Redemption, staring at the image of Thravis Prime in the viewscreen. He was resplendent in his ancient suit of tactical dreadnaught armour. It was one of the very few that the chapter had left and Reinhardt had personally performed the rites of purification and appeasement before donning it. He was pensive. He led a strikeforce of twenty veteran Black Falcons from his own First Company along with elements of the Sixth and the Armoured Seventh. It was rare for the Black Falcons to field the First and Seventh together but this mission was of the utmost importance. Captain Samuel Therrien and his Fourth Company had gone missing in the Thravian System and the Chapter had sent Reinhardt to find them. He knew Therrien as a competent if sometimes brash commander but that's not what concerned him most. Therrien as well as most of his company were "New Blood". The Black Falcons recruited from the feral tribes of their homeworld Scythia, the former home of a long dead alien civilization. As part of the induction rites each potential neophyte had to travel alone to the ancient ruins of the xenos cities and bring back a piece of their culture. In the Chapter's early days Battle Brothers would either discard the item or keep it their cell along with their other personal effects. The collection of such items was mainly to show proof that the initiate had made the treacherous journey to one of the ruins and spent the alotted time there. Naytan himself had discarded the broken and rusted piece of xenotech he had found before being taken from Scythia to begin his initiation process. "New Bloods" as they were known by some, were beginning to show the tendency to display their trophies on their armour. It was said they believed it was a gift from the "Sky King" of their people and protected their souls from alien influnce. Some even went as far as fashioning blades from the alien metal they found, to be used in combat. Although the Chapter as a whole allowed this practice to continue, Reinhardt was disgusted by it. He relied on his unshakeable faith in The Emperor of Mankind, and his blessed wargear to protect him, not some xenos trinket. He had on occasion, argued to the Chapter Leadership that the "New Bloods" and their idiosyncrasies would lead them and the Chapter on a path to damnation. High Chaplain Gregorius told him that the matter was being dealt with but at the moment, due to the Chapter's situation, the "New Bloods" would be tolerated. Naytan wonderd if the nature of Therrien and his Company had something to do with the matter at hand. He was sure that he would soon find out. He was woken from his reverie by the voice of one of the Chapter Serfs by the name of Gaylen. "My Lord" the man said. "Captain Dransk reports that the Battle Brothers are prepared for deployment." "Good." Naytan replied. "Tell him I will meet him on the embarkation deck within thirty minutes." He turned to the marine who had been standing with him on the bridge. "Sargeant Holzmann the bridge is yours." "The Emperor Protects" Holzmann replied as Reinhardt turned to leave for the launch bay. We shall see what Therrien is up to, Reinhardt thought as he strode off the bridge. more to come...
  7. Brother Olisredan- thanks for fixing that image and header for me. Went in to try my hand at it today and Yay for me! it was done!
  8. Ok I'm doing this on my phone so I hope you know I'm referring to your post on the organization and beliefs of The Black Falcons.
  9. I was rereading some earlier posts and realized I must have missed this. Excellent work Brother Teetengee! That describes how I see them to a tee Cheers! SK
  10. The Black Falcons are definitely anti Vandire.
  11. Definite food for thought... And from what I've read of The Lions, I haven't viewed them as punching bags at all but rather the main antagonist in the Cluster. They are bunch of nasty individuals who are worthy of eradication by honest Emperor fearing loyalists.
  12. The dying out part grabs my attention. I hadn't considered one of the Liber Chapters becoming extinct. My advice would be to decimate them somehow - perhaps on the receiving end of the Lions' wrath after a disastrous attack on their territory, and then the Chapter (reduced to, say, less than a hundred members) decides that honour and glory can still be theirs by making one last attack at Evin Prime, intent on decapitating the Lions leadership. Just a thought. Olisredan- I would not be against something like that as long as the others involved agree. Brother Dizzyeye is also going to get with me on some ideas he has for them. I was also thinking maybe they could be reduced to something like three squads worth of Marines. Then an Inquisitor finds them and employs them as part of his house troops with the intent of building his own personal force of Astartes(or is that too far out?). The stealth and infiltration aspect of the Black Falcons would go in hand with the tactics that are regularly imployed by the Inquisition. Something like a foil for the Sereiki Lions who were instrumental in the demise of the Falcons. Possibly the remaining Black Falcons agree to work with said Inquisitor in the hopes of revenge on the Lions.
  13. Brother Cormac... I am totally fine with the Black Falcons being loners. I'm sorry I haven't been able to post lately but I have some ideas for them that will fit in nicely with the Liber Cluster's resident villains. I believe the Chapter may fall on some more hard times. So hard in fact that they may not operate as a chapter but as separate autonomous comanies. I haven't been able to get much time with the laptop lately due to work but tomorrow I'm going to bash some stuff out on them. We may even see them die out entirely. Not sure yet. I'm thinking of something along the lines of them showing uo to several major engagements and sacrificing themselves to ensure a victory. They may or may not be successful.
  14. i was planning on putting some necron shenanigans in as soon as I could come up with something good.
