  1. Very nice, debating a Fusionkeel, so I might try that. Got any pics of it?
  2. White looks very smooth and really contrasts the darker tones nicely. Also really like the base painting. Looking forward to seeing more of these guys! :)
  3. I've converted a Broadside into a Commander, but haven't got an idea how you'd model a super HOBC from the HRR. I was thinking of giving my Coldstar two Fusion Blasters, Shield and Target Lock. Maybe even Fusion Blades cos I'm an absolute madman and might try FSE tactics sometime. My current one is built in the generic setup though. Thinking HOBC, two Missile Pods and an ATS. Just attach another shoulder mounted Missile Pod at some point to keep it fairly WYSIWYG.
  4. Got the Nids together for a shoot to help motivate my painting. Quite pleased with how much I've gotten done so far, but as you can see I've barely dented the horde of little critters!
  5. Also there's zero chance of a Danger Close blast shot accidentally hitting your own men these days, and it doesn't feel like the Guard without that. :P
  6. It's a terrible Distraction Carnifex because it's very expensive, though. The argument, "if they're shooting at X they're not shooting at Y," has always been rubbish.
  7. There are other configurations? Do they go BRRRRRRRT as well?
  8. Yeah Vendettas are woeful, sadly.
  9. Used to use FW tanks, including a Laser Destroyer, but they're mostly lackluster sadly. The Destroyer is just woeful.
  10. It's not even a CQC weapon so I dunno why you'd want to, but it's up to you. At 60" range it's a long sniping weapon.
  11. Easy to call a unit rubbish if you don't have the first clue about its rules. :P These days I'm mostly playing bugs, because someone has to play the villain. Basilisks are a genuine threat to big critters and are hard to get to grips with if they're properly hidden and supported by infantry. Wyverns are similarly difficult, but can simply be ignored a lot of the time. They're really expensive for something that is designed to mulch cheap chaff. With no AP as the save improves the Wyvern really starts to have a bad time, and there's a noticeable difference in volume of Wounds as Toughness increases, even with the reroll. I faced two last night within a Guard list that also had Chimera Infantry Squads and three TC Russ Battle Tanks. I ignored the Wyverns the entire game, and during the game they had free rein to target my large Hormagaunt and Termagant squads. By the end of the game, with support from Guardsmen, etc, they had almost killed both 30 man squads. He wasn't even rolling that badly on them.
  12. Wow Commissar Elmo, these guardsmen look ama - wait a minute!
  13. My Nids have been going strong locally, but I've only been playing a few games and not especially competitive at that.
  14. Screamer Killers were a pretty good success in my game last night, even against Tzeentch Daemons. However the star of the show had to be the Dakkafex, I think Daemons is a perfect matchup for it. AP doesn't matter, the Strength is solid against more targets, and you can drown squads in dice. Ended up popping the "Shoot Again" stratagem on it twice, absolutely blew away whatever it pointed at.
