Lists for the List God: The Skull Brethren 2026

With the points now out and 11th edition in full swing. I have been list crafting my butt off and I have some thoughts to share about where my projects. My method was to make 2 lists out of my current 4 armies: Space Marines, Tyranids, Astra Militarum and World Eaters. With the new detachments rules, it leaves a lot of room for experimentation. I usually don't play hyper competitive and if I can, I try to play with the current models that I have in my collection when possible. So first we are go

Skull Brethren Part 8: It's not hard, its just brain surgery

Hello guys! just a small update on my World Eaters... I bought it, it arrived monday but I haven't gotten my hands on proper until today. I'm not sure if this is my largest kit I have bought. I think my Tyrannofex is bigger, but this has been one of the harder builds I have done at least in recent memory. The lower torso, the place where are the legs attach was difficult for me. If anyone asks, I'm going to say the World Eaters build this one, and they are not known for the engineerin

Skull Brethren Part 7: State of the Horde

Hey guys,   So this is the currently state of the Skull Brethren or at least the finished painted models. It's about 40 infantry, 6 characters, about 5 armoured assets and a pair of spawn. Probably south of 2000pts but over 1500pts for sure. Now what isn't here:   20 built but not painted Khorne Berzerkers. I haven't built up the painting willpower to tackle them yet. Although they will become a priority soon as 11 edition looms  2 more Chaos Spawn. I do run a list th

Skull Brethren Part 6: Mere Mortals

Hey guys, back with the World Eaters again. This time we are looking at the small folk of the Skull Brethren. The Jakhal Cultists. I really liked the look of the Jakhals when they came out. They have a lot of character. Although they are a bit of a pain to build. Connecting those chains with the wrists with my ogre fingers was a bit frustrating.    In my warbands lore, The Skull Brethren uses lots of Jakhals. Draxxigor Bloodhowler is the mortal commander of the Skull Brethren, he's fa

Skull Brethren Part 5: The Forgotten

Have you ever wanted a unit to work in your army but never could? Like a unit or character that you love in the lore, but because the game, aren't able to make it work. I have this feeling about World Eaters Terminators. I love terminators, no doubt about it. When my brother bought box of 2nd edition loyalist terminators, they brought fear into my then Dark Eldar force. That thick 2+ save was a menace, until i got some  Incubi.    - When I started my World Eaters collection, I of c

Skull Brethren Part 4: Blessed and Possessed

So when the World Eaters codex landed I was a little mixed about the eightbound. Maybe it was because we were hoping for Red Butcher Terminators, maybe it was because there's was too many teeth on the exalted eightbound's armour. They have grown on me since then.  They kinda fit in a strange role as the world eater possessed as the specialist assault unit. With regular eightbound being heavy infantry killers and the exalted kin being monster and tank hunters. I typically run 2x3

Skull Brethren Part 3: The Price of Failure

Chaos is basically gambling with your soul. Bet big and you might become a Daemon Prince. Lose on that bet and some real bad things can happen to you. You are also betting against your battle brothers. Each of you are trying  to survive but also trying to  gain favor of Chaos Gods. World Eaters with the butcher's nails, are always compelled towards violence.  Some say that Chaos is a ladder, so lets look a the bottom rung.    Helbrute lore is fun.  It's a punishment, you failed and you

Skull Brethren Part 2: Rogues Gallery

So again, I love me some characters and my World Eaters have had quite a  few over the years. Since 3rd edition my army has gone through many lords, champions and supporting fellows. There's also too many to count and recall. So I have all of my current heroes (or should I say villains) Ah, the true OG. Khârn the Betrayer. I did have the old school 2nd edition Khârn back in the day. That model was the first model I had "commissioned" when a friend of my mine painted it for me as a birt

Skull Brethren Part 1: The Ship of Theseus

Hello followers of the Dark Gods! I have been a World Eaters Player since, I want to say 1998., so almost 30 years. Over the years I have bought, sold and traded for models. My warband has gone through many name changes, The Blood Vultures (When my warband used an ungodly amount of raptors) The Crimson Butchers (When my warband was a Chaos Soup army, with daemons and Traitor Guard units) and now we have settle on The Skull Brethren for 9th, 10th and probably 11th edition. The army has ballooned
