Touch and Go!

Well I'm back from Louisiana....12 hours later than expected thanks to weather, flight delays, and choosing to drive home. We got home yesterday and we leave tonight for Florida for cruise. Enough time to change clothes out in luggage, get a day of work in, and leave. Seriously feels like a touch and go.

While in Bossier City, Louisiana I did hit up to gaming shops. Disclaimer - Now I will say maybe I did not go to the right stores, but the 40k Products was found lacking at the 2 stores, The Basement and the SteelFox Games. Both stores were the Warhammer Rack displays or a little larger. I am pretty sure I have a larger collection of Brand New in Box Models then both stores. This is not a knock against them, more of knock against my collection and me.
- The Basement had unique entry way where one door lead to a Cookie shop and the other to the gaming store. Selection was not bad for what I Warhammer stuff they had. I did not see their gaming area.
- SteelFox Games had a gaming area and terrain but the people in that area were playing Pokémon or unboxing their boxes. Selection of Warhammer was larger then the Basements but the area dedicated to Pokémon was huge in comparison.
Like I said, I may not have gone to the right stores. When I travel I try to check out the local gaming stores, not just the Warhammer stores. I really should start checking with locals to see what stores to go to. As Yelp/ Google/ Whatever search engine is not really helpful on stores are good or not. Also I am used to walking into stores that have tons of blisters, multiple boxes for Horus Heresy, Necromunda, 40k, and Kill Team plus AoS and related products, decent gaming area, and friendly staff. So I may be a bit spoiled by my store options.
Over the years I have been to stores in Texas (Mesquite/ Garland/ Arlington), South Carolina (Greenville/ Anderson), Indiana (Michigan City/ La Porte), and now Louisiana (Bossier City). And this is just the Independent Retailers not just Games Workshop/ Warhammer stores, which I expect a certain experience as they are direct representatives of Games Workshop. I usually try to buy something from the Independent Retail stores even if it is something small, especially if the employees show great customer service and are very interactive with me. When the staff talk to just the regulars, are not interactive with me, it is unwelcoming experience and makes me not want to shop there.

While in Orlando, I may try to find a gaming store but no guarantees.
