Hive Fleet Asmodeus Part 1: Vanguard Bugs
Hello fellow future biomass!
The arrival of Hive Fleet Asmodeus is here. Tyranids are my largest army in terms of plastic. The army takes up 2 bookshelves in my book case. I started collecting them around 2004-2005ish era. I started with 20 genestealers and 2 Zoanthropes as a little combat partol back in the day. The collection didn't really take off until 2010ish, where I sold off my brother's Imperial Guard Armoured Company and reinvested back into the bugs. Hive Fleet Asmodeus tends to have more bigger bugs. I don't own any Termagants, Hormagaunts, or Gargoyles.
The Genestealers were there from the start. These are the older 2005 models. I have 30 of them in current use, with another 10 in storage.
In 2023, they release an updated these guys and with that, they moved them to 32mm from the smaller 25mm. It makes sense, they genestealers have lot of limbs that over hanged a lot which made pile ins a bit of a mess. The 32mm helps, but I wasn't going to throw out 40 genestealers, who look very similar to the 2023, just because the base size increased. So I found some base converters online which bump up the size. That's the grey rings you see around the bases.
Of course, Genestealers need there leader beast. The broodlords. I never got the 2005 broodlord, So I have 3 of 2014 version.
The above Broodlord is the "Prime Lord". He usually gets the Neruronode upgrade. His face is from the old 2006 deathleaper model.
That's it for the genestealer vanguard but more bugs are on the way! Stay tuned!
