Retro marines and Necron lord

I have been away for a bit due to work, but browsing ebay the other day I found a classic emperors champion going cheap. This was a model I always wanted when I was younger but as it was an event exclusive (I think?) I never got my hands on it. It was a fun guy to paint and was the first real opportunity for me to try out some scale 75 necro gold that I got my hands on. Absolutely lovely paint, colour is gorgeous and its a joy to paint with. Them figure itself was a bit of a nightmare to clean up for painting, mainly his shoulder pad with the winged skull on it required some not too subtle digging away and filling down but I think he has turned out pretty nicely!

Speaking of models that were a nightmare to assemble,  enter the necron lord, this was a push fit model again curtousy of Ebay, but I painted him in sub assemble and all i can say is what a faff!! I love the look of the guy though and I wanted to try out a metallic blue/turquoise I've seen on HH alpha legions, it reminds me of a stunning turquoise I've seen on BMWs that I love. Overall I think it came out quite nice, but when I edge highlighted the cloak it kinda drowned out the metallic look so I left his shoulders and head strip as is. He was also a great opportunity to try out some glowing osl techniques that came out ok so was quite happy with that. I like the scheme but something doesn't seem quite right with it and I can't put my finger on it.

Really nice work! Love the effect you did on the sword. What colors did you use for the blade?
