Let's Build an Inquisitor!

Building a Generic Inquisitor for my Custodes.

I bought one of those Cities of Sigmar blind boxes, and ended up with this guy, I think he's a good starting point.

I'm going to fix his base, give him a new head, and modify his weapon and backpack... I think.

Got any suggestions?

And I have no idea what the heck this is, but it has a spot on the base for it:

Well I suppose it depends on what Ordo and disposition (Radical, mono-dominant, etc) he's apart of. I could see him carrying some sort of modified pulse rifle, if he's a radical of the Ordo Xenos....

I've always liked the mentioned (but not fleshed out) Ordo Maledictum.

They are Inquisitors sent to close the Great Rift, "by any means necessary."

It gives me a narrative reason why my army is fighting yours. You have something that could possibly help me on my impossible mission.

Ok, makes sense, now is he a radical (xanthites, istvaanites, or reconsecrator) or puritan (monodominant, amalthian or thorian). You decide on that, and that will definitely help you with your conversion choices.

Looking forward to seeing how you kitbash it! With Inquisitors, there's really almost endless possibilities.

The little thing on the base is a Gargoylian in Age of Sigmar, which are little magical creatures with anti-Chaos energy. In 40k, it could be a xenos pet/psychic familiar?

Was thinking about a Votann backpack and the Kasrkin bald head with Nightvision Goggles...

With that weapon stock, you can really equip them with anything you'd like. The goggles are appropriately witchhunter-esque. If you're wanting to use the gargoylian, maybe put it being crushed underfoot? As as symbol of crushing warp influence perhaps?

How about the base? Inquisitor are supposed to be on 32mm. Should I just mount the scenic base on a 32mm base? Does that make him too tall?

Otherwise I'm going to have to clip him down to a basic black base and greenstuff the other side of the rock.

Looks good for me. With current rules you barely have any issues with him being too tall.

Considering aesthetic I'll suggest add some ornaments/rock finish to original base and it's wouldn't be like Logan's tactical mountain:biggrin:

Cool!

Grenades are usually a simple way of 40king a fantasy model. Maybe if you can sculpt an inquisitor symbol over the cities of sigmar symbol or where his coat is buttoned that look great.

His knee might be another good spot.

If you could replace the rock with a CSM helmet or another defeated enemy that would also be cool. Probably a bit too much work though.

if you have plasma/melta you could just spat it on bottom of your crossbow and get combiweapon for him. and few grenades here and there would make him 40k. and insiglnia, or ten. you know more I more inquisition vibe

That's actually a really good idea, I'm going to go scrounge for those bits.
