The Gren'dal
I am the fury of the unspoken Word
I am Anointed, by my Father's hand
Blood and bone, skulls and skin, are my sacraments
Let those I slaughter be sanctified by my blades
Let their souls gladden Lorgar and Karneth
Chaos the Undivided will be my guide
Ebon Word am I pledged
Ebon Word am I bound
For I am the Gren'dal, the furious death waiting
- the Gren'dal
The Gren’dal
Lord of the Iron Canticle
“Faith is forged in fury. Let the Word be spoken in the language of death.”
- Gren'dal
The Gren’dal is the living hymn of slaughter, the warlord who leads the Iron Canticle in the name of the Blood God. Where others preach devotion, he proves it in ruin as his faith is measured by the corpses of the Imperium’s servants and the rivers of blood that follow his advance. His armor is a shrine to Khorne, layered in skulls and scarlet, each plate engraved with the names of those he has slain.
Once a warrior‑priest of the Ebon Word, the Gren’dal’s zeal burned too fiercely to be contained by mere scripture. He turned his litanies into war cries, his sermons into executions. Now he stands as the Lord of the Iron Canticle, the embodiment of the Word’s fury, his every strike a verse in the endless hymn of Chaos. The Gren'dal is no tactician, no mastermind of strategy. He does not inspire through oratory or warp mastery; battle is the crucible from which he preaches. The Iron Canticle guard's their lord's side as he carves burning lines through the foe.
His weapon, Hate Incur'd, is said to sing as it kills- a deep, resonant hum that echoes the heartbeat of Khorne himself. In battle, the Gren’dal moves like a storm given flesh, his laughter drowned by the roar of engines and the screams of the dying. To his enemies, he is the inevitable end, the sermon written in blood. None are spared from the furious application of the Blood God's testament, for all are worth of being a sacrifice to the Skull Throne.
