On the workbench - Some models for October pledge
Hi folks,
Here are some of the stuff that has been slowly but surely been accumulated on my workbench.
I am usually with 2 or 3 projects at the time, in order to get enough variety in order to avoid being bored. changing model, colour pallet and universe helps me keeping the momentum, whle too much batch painting leads to need for disconnection. Whwn I was painting only SW during lock-down, I spent months with The Fang as main colour. When this happens you need a break sooner or latter.
At the moment I initiated inserting otehr stuff in the waiting row: scenery mostly, but also small projects, from the World that Was, from old GorkaMorka... It helped a lot.
I am currently with a project of getting my 90´s eldars painted and completed by other units in order to reach a playable (and legal) army. I went to Ynnari as this allow a huge variety in models and schemes. It also aligned me with the army building philosophy I shifted to after the Primaris introduction: avoid getting all my eggs in the same basket. Getting multiple smaller forces, eventually combined into one and that can be then spinned off make my collection more resilient to range changes. Even if these may eventully be beyond my very own acceptation limits. Said otherwise, gathering 18k pts of SW was a bad idea. It took me 2 decades to realize, but, hey, too late.
So, back on the never-ending work bench with some various stuff work in progress and ready to be completetd or to be enlisted in the 12 Months of Hobby for October:
- KT Mandrakes - this squad only needs basing and some small corrections (ears, white spots of paint on black skin...)
- A Napoleon-Grot - offered as a gift by a Ebay seller
- A Aeldari HW platform - base red colour is set but everything else nees to be done
- A squad of Kabalite warriors - under assembly, primed on sprue. But I still have to buy the paints, so I am not sure I will start them this month
- A Spirit warrior for RT era - primed. I need to find a base.
I also have all the Battle at skull pass dwarf army, but this is not B&C business...
Let see if I can complete some of this stuff in the coming weeks.
See you latter with some progress.
