A Scout-neophyte of the Angels of Vigilance Chapter wearing type IX camouflage pattern on clothing, low light pattern carapace

armour with subdued markings, starlight visors with range-finder and comm-link. Scout-neophytes are not allowed to display the full Chapter badge of the Angels of Vigilance. Those Scout-neophytes that are not yet ready to serve in combat bear plain shoulder pads. Those that have progressed through their training and induction to the point where they are ready to serve in combat are allowed to display the burning crucible upon their left shoulder pad. Only the Scout Sergeants, who are experienced battle-brothers, are allowed to wear the full Chapter badge upon their carapace armour, though the armour of the Scouts of the Angels of Vigilance is typically colored in neutral tones that blend with the environment in which they will operate in order to provide better camouflage.
