Blood Claws

The base soldier in any Wolf Company. Slightly restrained, blood thirsty and capable of mindless killing, Blood Claws are the freshest of recruits in any Wolf company. Within the Hands, though, there are some peculiar rites through which these newly elevated killing machines must endure. The first of which is that when new Blood Claws are inducted into the company, the armor for their right arm is withheld, the dull sheen of the brass coloring reserved for when they survive long enough to earn it. As well, they are given Deathmask helmets that they are forbidden to remove until they attain the rank of Grey Hunters. Day and night these new recruits live through these masks and inside the company are known as The Nameless. The tradition is that members of the Thrall’s warriors didn’t want to get to know the name of the men they would be fighting with until they had proven themselves. That way they didn’t get attached to anyone due to personality reasons and those who survived this tradition were the ones who had learned the lessons of war the best.
