The prognostication that started it all:

"Centuries from now, the Doomed One shall lead a host and spill the blood of thousands. He who rode the path of damnation upon Holy Terra long before the Unification shall ride forth once again. Our Order will stand shoulder to shoulder with other orders, for the Doomed One seeks vengeance upon the Adeptus Astartes. The knights of Titan; the heralds in iron; the sons of the Lion in colors unknown; the raptors of war – these orders and more shall answer the call to war. Two orders will fall, but the Doomed One will be stopped."
