  1. From the album: Sarment Sector Colour Schemes

Colour Scheme of chapter 26-9, precursors of the Red Drakes
  2. As I continue to work in my successor chapter (Salamanders and & Dark Angels) I am working on the armor for my army, has anyone used scale armor for their chapter for a loyalist chapter, or does it give off alpha legion vibes? if you have pics please show them so I can see what others have created. cheers
  3. Apparently the new Codex:Space Marines confirms four Ultima Founding Salamanders successors. Covenant of Fire: The Covenant of Fire crave knowledge of the Imperium they fight for, seeking out lore wherever they can find it, hoping that this information can help them bring light to darkness. Conversely, they purge any sign of heretical material they find, knowing that its knowledge is a false light that leads only to ruin. The chapter eagerly embraced the Promethean Cult, imbibing and applying the wisdom of their gene-sire swiftly. Dragonspears: A fleet-based Chapter, the Dragonspears have won renown fighting alongside the Space Wolves against the Orks at the Gnarion Reef and have become expert Ork hunters. Being constantly on the move, it took many years for the Salamanders to make contact with them, in which time the Dragonspears developed a very strong culture of self-sacrifice and endocannibalism, to ensure their lost brothers never fall from memory. Black Vipers: The Salamanders accidentally learned of the Black Vipers many years after other Ultima Founding Successors. Sar K'god, the Chaplain sent to the Chapter by the Salamanders disappeared without a trace. The Black Vipers appear to claim no world for their own, and spurn contact with allies on the rare occasion where it is seen at war. Wherever the Chapter has been identified, agents of the Bellisarius Cawl have never been far away. Dark Krakens: The Dark Krakens oceanic and night-bathed home world of Nakzis only boasts one land mass capable of supporting a fortress monastery. Nakzis' vast seas are replete with bioluminescent megafauna and shoal-predators, which natives populations hunt for sport and nourishment. Echoing them, in battle the Dark Krakens seek out the largest foes, whether that be in terms of physical size or sheer numbers. Thank you to MuphynToy for bringing this to my attention and Deafrazr for the full text info from r/40klore. Personally I'm quite happy with this. I think there's decent variety among them, though strangely the Covenant of Fire share the same chapter icon as pre-Heresy Word Bearers, which is a little odd. I hope that won't have people screaming about traitor geneseed the way it did with the Sons of the Pheonix. Color schemes can be seen on the bottom right at 4:19.
  4. On a related note how does it work with Salamander visage? Is the jet black skin and red eyes purely a result of Nocturne and limited to the Salamanders or is this something attributed to all their Successors? I've never done Salamanders before and fancy a crack at one of the Successors but would like to be as accurate as possible.
  5. Emperor forbid that the Salamanders have a clear successor, so these guys are of unknown origin. But then again, maybe that's for the best: I give you the Ash Bringers, a pyromaniacal chapter that exchanges the slow and purposeful way of war that typifies the XVIIIth for fast and brutal tactics akin to those of Adrax Agatone. The first chapter, the Valaraukar, are clad in white plate, in accordance with ancient custom: Here are Valaraukar Veterans with their flamers and close combat blades: Many veterans bear the sigil of the Eye and Ring. The Ash Bringers see the Astronomicon as a burning, all seeing eye that watches over the Imperium, sheding light even as The Emperor watches. The ring represents unity and rulership. The battlecry "One Ring" or "Ash Nazg" is thus a statement not simply of chapter brotherhood, but also of the unbreakable unity of the Emperor's domains and a call to the responsibility that the Ring Giver of Terra has called the chapter to. "One Ring..." is also the beginning of a chapter litany. Of note here is the line "agh burzum-ishi krimpatul", which means "and in darkness bind them". This refers to the Chapter's duty to be the source of stability and duty in the darkness. The Chapter's light may be that of burned cities and a manner more volcanic than human, but it is in the act of casting this light in the Emperor's name that they do not simply purge His foes, but also serve to guide and protect the Imperium. The Ash Bringers shun the light of heroism that the Salamanders take to so easily, but rather keep to the flickering firelight and magma-glow in the deep places, and, in casting their long shadows guide and inspire humanity in their own way. Thus it is that when names like Khanti Blackflame or Lykennin World-Kindler are spoken by mortals, it is in reference to a beast from the darkness and the deep places, come to the surface in a moment of geologic fury, glimpsed for but a moment, before vanishing, but opening a space for the Emperor's faithful to act. Chaplain Tursas Foebane (meh. That needs work...), for example, is always mindful that the Chapter's interventions in guard operations provide the guard the opportunity to win their own glory. So yeah, basically, some people want to watch the world burn, but that doesn't mean that they don't also kind of care about the average citizen of the Imperium in a weird sort of "help them stand on their own two feet" kind of way. I'm not exactly committed to Salamanders rules in the long-term, but for now, with the incoming changes to flamers, the choice is very easy. Ironically, it's the meta-winning aspect of the Salamanders that I'm lukewarm about, since the idea I'm going with here is that these are sort of like the Salamander's version of the Carcharodons. Not that they're Salamanders successors. Everyone knows there's no such thing. Fortunately the 40k CTs don't have the sloooow drawback of the 30k legion rules and I like the ways of drawing out that creative artisan side of what would otherwise be just devils in the dark.
  6. With the new edition and the Ultima Founding, I couldn't help but notice, the Salamanders didn't get one confirmed successor chapter. I felt like the Ultima Founding would habhave been the perfect opportunity to do so. The Blood Angels got the Sons of the Chalice, even with their genetic flaw. The Raven Guard got ANOTHER chapter despite their losses. As a Salamanders player I feel after 10,000 years, it's about time we get a successor Chapter...a confirmed one anyways. I know I'm ranting but I'm kinda salty about it.
  7. Hi all I'm thinking of starting SM again and the theme I want to use is black dragons. I just wanted to know what there fluff is and if there are any rules for them. Your help needed please Cheers
