Ok, so first of all while doing this little project I've discovered that there's a limit to the quote tags you can have in a post! That's how many I've used. So I'm going to double post, because I like the format too much.

Oh and a few things -

Here some of the things that bug me about 40k background start to surface - inconsistency! (I love that word)

According to IA, vol1, Triplex Phall is also home to the Legio Victorum (Foe Slayers). It doesn't mention the Legio Praetor at all, but I would assume that there are simply two legions there.
Brother Pariah, I'm pretty sure IA:1 does list them as Triplex Phall, but the Armageddon 3 website gives a very detailed description of the Legio Victorum as hailing from Galatia.

Right here.

So it all depends on which source we view as best. However, the .pdf Titan Legion list you linked for me also acknowledges this double Legio problem and states that the Arm3 entry is more complete. Galatia would make more sense, as 2 Titan Legions on one Forgeworld would be an exception to the rule, at least in regards to this list. I think I'll use Galatia instead.

Also, reading the Armageddon3 entry on Galatia its location is described as the 'galactic south'. Would it have killed them to say which Segmentum? I'm assuming Pacificus rather than Tempestus but I think Tempestus is actually more southernly, according to this starmap anyway.

Another thing that is eating at me is the distinction between Esteban VII and Estaban III. Typo? Are they part of the same system? http://www.epic40k.co.uk/force/titanorders.pdf <-------------- This list lists them both as Esteban. What do you think? Anyone have any information that could help out?

Anyways, we're now fully alphabetised and in the old format too (took me a while!)

Total Forgeworlds - 28 so far!

Oh, and Fortis Binary huh? Well, why not. Coming up next. I should be moving on to adding notes to most of the better-known entries. Once that's done I'll move on to vehicle, Titan and weapon variants. Then we should be finished.

++EDIT++

Fortis Binary is up, along with some miscellaneous info for Tolkhan, Ryza, Triplex Phall, Arenxis Minoris, Stygies VIII, Graia, Agrapinaa and Anvilus IX. 29 Forgeworlds!

Anyone still tuning in to this?

If my Ultramarines timeline thread is any indication, these things tend to slow WAY down after the first rush of data. Things will trickle in every once in a while when people find things. It might be worth stickying this thread, Mr. Mod-Man.

Additional Forgeworlds:

Sadlyen Falls XXI

Themiscrya Beta

Salshan Anterior (Fell to Teturact's empire but was presumably taken back)

Chaeronia (Conquered by chaos - current status unknown)

And it's Artemia Majoris in IA1, Stygies VIII was saved during the HH by Eldar, and IA1 lists both Estabans with an 'a'. :P

EDIT: Also;

Telkrid IX (Fell to Teturact's empire but was presumably taken back)

And I can get you the production grades for some if you want them. Just to clear it up, each Forgeworld is ruled by a fabricator-general. The Fabricator-General of Mars is the greatest of those, and commands the Adeptus and Cult Mechanicus

Just noticed this thread by chance, but I found a mention of a forgeworld named 'Lokastus' in the space marine codex pg 56,

Sergeant Glavinius purges the Forgeworld of Lokastus with a pic (using game minis) of an ultramarines veteran squad getting out of a rhino and attacking orks.

Hope that helps....

Edited by FireHawk

Thank you Pariah, Mechanicus and Firehawk.

If you have the prod. grades handy Mechanicus, then that would be great. Thank you for the clarification regarding Fabricator-Generals by the way.

Ok so - I'm going to assume that any forgeworld that supplies the Ultramarines chapter is located in the Ultima Segmentum. So Maxima III is Ultima Sg. for now.

Any clues as to where Teturact's empire was located? Is he from Soul Drinkers? I haven't read any of the books so any help you can give me would be invaluable.

EDIT: No idea about Teturact's empire, I'm afraid. AFAIK, there was nothing conclusive to indicate where it was, unfortunately. It might be in Ultima Segmentum (Chaeronia ended up there, and the magos in charge of the Mechanicus Explorator vessel was trained at Salshan Anterior), but it assumes a lot.

Just to clear it up, each Forgeworld is ruled by a fabricator-general. The Fabricator-General of Mars is the greatest of those, and commands the Adeptus and Cult Mechanicus

That is an interesting nugget I had not heard before. What is your source on this, as I would be interested to read more.

The Explorator Warbands article, from Specialist Games, written by Gav Thorpe. The exact quote is:

Thus a pro-xenos inclined Fabricator General of a forge world may instigate several programs of research into alien tech, and direct his Explorators to locate such things for study. By the time the Explorators return, if ever they do, an anti-xenos Fabricator General has ascended to command and the expedition may well be declared heretical and hunted down.

Nice bit of deduction. Added a small bit to the Mars article in light of this. Should make it sound more correct.

Updated both parts with extra notes and the prod. grades. Will be updating the rest once I've worked on my university project.

Notes: Mars is the original home of the Cult Mechanicus, also known as the Cult of the Machine. Situated in the Solar System, this ancient world is second in importance only to Holy Terra itself. Mars also serves as a training centre for the Techmarines of the Adeptus Astartes.

Mars is also the Imperial Navy Headquarters for the Segmentum Solar Fleet.

The Ordo Reductor, the siege arm of the Adeptus Mechanicus, is based on Mars.

Leader: The Fabricator-General of the Priesthood of Mars.

Titan Legion:

Mordax Prime

Status: Overrun (Orks)

Location: Segmentum Obscurus

Notes: A Forge World in the Scarus Sector, Mordax Prime suffered increasing attacks from elements of the Night Lords and Black Legion before and during the 13th Crusade culminating in a huge mercenary Ork Invasion lead by the Death Skull Ork Warlord Deversnik Void-Stalker. It was defended unsuccessfully by a combined Imperial Guard, Skitarii and Black Templar force. Adeptus Mechanicus artifacts were looted by Chaos forces under the cover of the Ork invasion, but they were severely hampered by the Ork forces who inevitably turned on their paymasters. The planet fell to the "Green Kroosade", and was quickly renamed Moredakka Prime by the Orks.

Titan Legion:

Ryza

Status: Active

Prod. Grade: I-Prima

Location: Segmentum Solar

Titan Legion: Legio Crucius (Warmongers)

Notes: The tech-adepts of Ryza are experts in plasma reactor and magnetic containment field technology. In consequence, Ryza's Skitarii regiments heavily feature Plasma weaponry. Ryza is the primary producer of the Leman Russ Executioner, a Leman Russ variant armed with a Plasma Destroyer. Ryza's own Skitarii are equipped almost exclusively with the temperamental Executioners.

Ryza was once invaded by an Ork Waagh but repulsed it with aid from the surrounding systems. This was known as the Ryza Campaign.

Sadlyen Falls XXI

Stygies VIII

Status: Active

Prod. Grade: II-Extremis

Location: Segmentum Obscurus

Titan Legion: Legio Honorum

Notes: Stygies VIII is in fact a Forgeworld moon orbiting a ringed gas giant in the Vulcanis system. The other two forgeworlds in the Vulcanis System were Vulcanis I and II, which turned Traitor during the Horus Heresy. They were defeated with the aid of the Eldar during the Heresy.

Telkrid IX

Status: Active

Notes: Fell to the psychic powers of the Adeptus Mechanicus experiment known as Teturact and became part of his empire. Presumed reclaimed once Teturact was defeated.

Themiscrya Beta

Status: Active

Tigrus

Status: Overrun (Orks)

Prod. Grade: IV-Prima/Non

Location:

Notes: Tigrus was the original developer of the Leman Russ Vanquisher tank variant. However, the secrets of the original design were lost when the world was invaded by the forces of Ork Warlord Arrgard the Defiler in M35. Newer Vanquisher variants have since been developed by both Gryphonne IV and Stygies VIII, but these are not exact copies of the original design. The Vanquisher cannon is primarily designed for anti-tank operations, and is formidable against armoured foes.

Tolkhan

Status: Active

Prod. Grade: III-Tertius

Location:

Titan Legion: Legio Pallidus Mors (Pale Riders)

Triplex Phall

Status: Active

Location: Ultima Segmentum

Titan Legion: Legio Praetor

Notes: Legio Praetor fought with success in the First Tyrannic War of 735.M41 (Hive Fleet Behemoth) and also in the Second Tyrannic War of 997.M41 (Hive Fleet Kraken).

Urdesh

Status: Active

Prod. Grade: III-Prima

Location: Segmentum Pacificus

Notes: Urdesh was invaded by Chaos forces in 766M41, but was reclaimed by the Imperium in 772M41

Voss Prime

Status: Active

Prod. Grade: II-Extremis

Location: Segmentum Solar

Titan Legion: Legio Invigilata (Emperor's Guard)

Notes: Voss Prime's tech-adepts are lacking in the knowledge required to produce good plasma reactor technology.

I'll add that in Pariah, thanks. Always useful to have an Ultramarines expert around, isn't it? =)

A few quick questions - were they at directly at Macragge? If so, I'd add that detail in, as that must be one of their main battle honours.

Edited by StratoKhan

Is there any further fluff regarding Gryphonne IV and/or the War Griffons Titan Legion? My current fluff ideas for my DIY Chapter have their homeworld situated nearby, and have good ties for this forgeworld, but that was before I knew it was destroyed, gives rise to further fluff possibilities.

Anyway, even a little bit of info, more specifically as to the current status of the War Griffons (destroyed?decimated?etc.), would be much appreciated, thanks.

Heh. Found another one:

Glovoda

From Codex Daemonhunters, p. 56:

...Inquisitor Coteaz destroyed the daemon-ingineers of the Glovoda Forge World. For this last act, a grateful Adeptus Mechanicus rewarded Inquisitor Coteaz with a psyber-eagle, an augmetic creature through which Coteaz would be able to channel his already formidable psychic powers.

Note that the psyber-eagle is referred to as the "Globodan Eagle" on p. 57, so presumably it was made on Glovoda.
