Gologotha Crusade Army

Recommended Posts

I think the over look is fine. The Rhino looks nice. Did you use Mig Pigments?

Also, the dread looks little like a Black Legion machine with that gold trim. That;s just my two bits. The gun blast on the assault cannon is a very nice bit of GS work.

Please keep posting pictures as you work.

Looks good. I'm gonna be taking part of Golgotha as well, did you see that I drew up a campaign badge for SM & IG armies if you wanna use em?

It's a set of scales weighing a skull or a tau head against golgotha, or barring that, for simplicity's sake, just the scales will do.

Just an FYI.

ummm, you do realize that a BT marshal would never have truck with a psycher right? (especially one of a "semi-heretical" chapter like the Soul Drinkers)

i like the models though, but i do have a few problems (other than the one already mentioned). keep in mind that realistic models are more appealing than outrageous ones that just couldn't work (i mean physically).

the dread's banner is the first: a banner that big would either make the dread sail away or it would snap the pole off the top of the dread. if you REALLY want a flag up there, make it smaller (the pole really shouldn't be longer than 3/4 of the dread's height).

second, the chaplain would not be able (no matter how strong space marines are) to hold up a head of that size, nor would the blade be able to support it, especially at that angle and in that position. maybe have mr. chappy hold the head itself, with the sword blade first in the ground.

the fire effect looks ok but maybe this picture can show you where you can improve the effect;

Oh and here is a minigun firing

This Golgatha Crusade isn't the Tau version. The Golgotha that these guys are going after is a system near Armageddon that has been over run with orks. The system chart is in the Battlefleet Gothic/Armada book.

Thanks for the invite though but we're alittle busy cleaning up the orks here.

If you get the chance, c'mon over, looks like the greenskins are making a showing there as well (barbarians).

I know this goes against all fluff/canon what have you. This crusade takes place right after Armeggedon and right before the Soul Drinker books. Being a Sons of Dorn crusade though (also using nilla marine codex) and having an I.F. chaplain around who will in the blink of an eye decapitate said Librarian if he so much as crosses his eyes, I think a BT marshall may be a little understanding.

Secondly it's 40k what's real. The banner displays all of the crusade/campaign badges that he has and I figured instead of getting a microscope and a few bristles to paint them, it would be okay.

Lastly if a space marine in power armor is strong enough to break an orks neck with his hands, I figure he is strong enough to hold his head up on a pig poker.

Bloodwraith: I think the fire from the mini-gun would be more fitting for the assault cannon (I like the pics). If I do the blast again (terminators) I will make it more like that and use more oranges/reds for the body of the flash and yellows and whites for the edges.

I dunno, I think if a SL Sgt can hold up an Ork head barehanded a chappy could do it impaled on a sword & I think that 40K swords are probably ALOT sturdier than swords we know now as they would have to be or else they'd shatter as soon as they struck a heretic's power armor being swung by a marine (Hulk SMASH!)

The Mentor Legion according to old fluff aides the mechanicus in testing new/prototype arms and armor. The helmet is a solid helmet w/o eyes = better armor. The auspex on the back pack sends visual images into a H.U.D. in the helmet allowing the sgt to see 360 degrees (fluff wise not game wise).
